Editorial by G. d'A.: Dear reader, as a webmaster also I constantly have to guard the read-ability of the 'Cryfreedom'-outlet and sometimes decisions need to be made to have it be for your convenience and moreso in total support of the women-led revolt in Iran which inevitably will be a grand Victory. Still, choices must be made always and so I've decided to, for now, embed all the actual news about the 'NO-hijab; 'Biological terror attscks against schoolgirls'; 'Iranian journalists under siege'; 'Blinding as a weapon' and 'The hanging spree' as part of the 'Actual news' updates of the Iran 'Woman, Life, Freedom' section. But, if need be and urgent attention and action is needed concerning the above mentioned topics it will get an extra emphasized place as part of the actual news page-layout. Thank you for being a reader and for your support of the 'Woman, Life, Freedom' revolution.

Pedram Azarnoosh
Iranwire - Sept 10, 2024 - by Roghayeh Rezaei
<<Two Years After Pedram Azarnoosh's Killing, His Family Faces Pressure to Abandon Justice
In the small city of Dehdasht, in southwest Iran, the memory of Pedram Azarnoosh stands as tall as the young man himself once did. It's been nearly two years since 17-year-old Pedram Azarnoosh, who was 2 meters and 8 centimetres tall, left his home and never returned - gunned down in the main square of Dehdasht by the forces of the Islamic Republic. Since that day, his family - especially his father and sister - has been relentlessly pressured to drop their fight for justice and forget him. But they refuse to let his memory fade. A source told IranWire that, under orders from the Intelligence Department, Pedram's father's legal case has been blocked by the judiciary. Authorities have informed the family that, because Pedram was labeled the <leader of the riots,> they have no right to pursue a case for his death. They even offered to declare him a martyr, but Pedram's father refused. On the second anniversary of the nationwide protests in Iran following the death of Mahsa Amini in the custody of the Morality Police, IranWire publishes a series of reports on the victims of the crackdown on the protests, the legal struggles of their families, and the developments surrounding their cases.
Pedram was killed on September 22, just six days after Mahsa Amini's death. He was shot by a sniper stationed on the roof of the governor's office in Dehdasht. Pedram, a young man skilled in karate, boxing, and football, was known for his compassion and humility. A close family friend told IranWire that Pedram was affectionately called a champion for his dedication to helping the poor: "He was humble and always worked hard to improve himself. His role model was [footballer] Ali Daei. He admired how Ali Daei became a national hero through hard work and how he helped people in poverty in Azerbaijan." Friends and family remember Pedram as fun-loving and generous, someone who never allowed his friends to pay when they were out together. The source, who spoke to IranWire on condition of anonymity due to security concerns, revealed that Pedram’s father, Faizullah Azarnoosh, has undergone four surgeries in the past two years - one for his heart and several for his back. Pedram’s mother, too, has suffered tremendously, her health deteriorating since her son's death. The source added that despite Faizullah's illness, he visits Pedram's grave every night at 8:00 p.m., staying for hours before returning home to sleep. "He's broken, but he’s holding on for the day of justice. Besides being father and son, they were best friends. Faizullah often says he regrets being born and serving his country, only to have his innocent son taken from him. His mother is the same. She hasn't accepted Pedram's death." The source also highlighted the ongoing harassment faced by Pedram's family. His sister, Pardis Azarnoosh, has been repeatedly disturbed on her university campus. Despite changing her phone number multiple times, the authorities continue to track her down. "All she has done is express her longing for her brother-why is she being harassed for that?" Pardis, who often posts on Instagram about her brother, refers to him as "Teddy," after the beloved cartoon character and teddy bear. In some posts, she writes about how much she misses listening to music with him and sharing laughs. The family's troubles began after security officials suggested to Pedram's father that they would declare Pedram a "martyr of the Islamic Republic." Faizullah refused. According to the source: "His parents raised a son who, at 15, helped several local young people struggling with addiction. By the time he was 17, he had brought them all home, saved them with sports and kindness, and they returned to a healthy life. Faizullah said, 'My son was so noble - how can I bow down to your demands?'" According to information received by IranWire, the case filed by Pedram Azarnoosh's father regarding his son's death remains unresolved. A source previously disclosed that despite Pedram's father suffering a stroke and undergoing heart surgery after seeing his son's lifeless body, he promptly filed a complaint following his son's burial. However, the judiciary has yet to formally open the case. The source further revealed that a judicial expert told Pedram's father that around 200 armed agents were present in Dehdasht on the night of September 22, 2022, making it unclear which agent was responsible for Pedram's shooting. Now, nearly 10 months after this information was initially reported by IranWire, another individual close to the Azarnoosh family has said that the Intelligence Department of Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad province has <forbidden> the family from pursuing their complaint against the security forces. The source explained: "On the day Pedram went out to protest, he posted about it on WhatsApp, which his sister saw. In response to his sister's concern," he said, 'Think I am Mahsa's brother, what else should a brother do for his sister?'" The source added: "The authorities then labeled Pedram a rioter and accused the family of supporting him. National and provincial intelligence officials issued orders prohibiting further investigation into the case. They even claimed that Pedram was the leader of the riots and therefore had no right to pursue justice." As the second anniversary of Pedram Azarnoosh's death approaches, security agents are pressuring his family through financial means, according to information obtained by IranWire. A source told IranWire that among the people of Dehdasht, a tradition dictates that during a family member's funeral, relatives and friends contribute financially to help with the ceremony. The tradition applied to Pedram's funeral as well. The source explained: "Recently, some individuals who had previously contributed to Pedram's funeral were coerced into demanding their money back. This is intended to harass and distress Pedram's father." The source added: "For the past week, these parents have been suffering from this disrespect. One of the individuals demanding repayment had lost a niece a few months earlier, and Pedram's father had contributed the same amount to their family. This harassment appears to be orchestrated by the authorities to further torment the family." The source added: "With the anniversary approaching, they know Pedram's father is preparing to commemorate it. They sent this person to disrupt and unsettle him. This is especially cruel given that Pedram's father, who lost his child, never asked for financial help and kept his home open to visitors for 40 days."
Financial pressure on families of victims has been a recurring issue. On September 4, Goldasteh Hosseini, mother of Abulfazl Adinezadeh - a teenager killed by security forces in Mashhad - announced the sale of her husband's work equipment to pay off debts incurred after her husband's business was shut down following his arrest. Ali Adinezadeh, Abulfazl's father, was detained on July 24 after being summoned to the Public and Revolutionary Prosecutor's Office in Qochan. He was subsequently transferred to a local prison. Before his arrest, he had been notified to address charges such as <spreading lies> and <propaganda against the Islamic Republic> related to his efforts to seek justice for his son.>>
