<<Woman Killed by Husband in Iran's Latest Femicide Case
A 31-year-old woman was stabbed to death by her husband in Sanandaj in
Kurdistan province, Iranian human rights sources reported.
The victim, Aida Heydarian, an employee at the Red Crescent pharmacy in
Sanandaj, suffered multiple stab wounds in the attack. Hana Human Rights
Organization reported that the perpetrator, identified as Aram Zarei,
attempted suicide following the murder and was admitted to a medical
center in Sanandaj. The human rights website Hengaw later confirmed that
Zarei was arrested and transferred to prison after receiving medical
treatment.
The motive behind the murder remains unclear. However, Hengaw reported
that Zarei had a history of violent behavior towards his wife, including
previous assaults and beatings. A recent report by an organization
monitoring human rights violations in the country documented at least 13
cases of femicide between May and June this year. Twelve of the murders
were committed by relatives of the victims, including husbands, fathers,
brothers, and sons. The frequency of such incidents has been increasing
over the past four decades. According to research published in the

Daniyal Kazeminejad
Hengaw Organisation for Human Right - 21 July 2024
<<Kermanshah: Daniyal Kazeminejad, Secretly Executed in Relation to the
Murder of an IRGC Member
The death sentence of Daniyal Kazeminejad, a Kurdish man imprisoned in
Dizelabad Kermanshah prison, has been secretly carried out without his
family's awareness. He was previously arrested and sentenced to death on
the charge of murdering a member of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard
Corps named Sajjad Amiri. According to the report received by the Hengaw
Organization for Human Rights, At dawn on Sunday, July 21, 2023, the
death sentence of Daniyal Kazeminejad, a 30-year-old Kurdish prisoner
from Islamabad-e-Gharb, was secretly carried out in Kermanshah Central
Prison (Dizelabad) without prior notification to his family or the
opportunity for a final meeting. In July 2023, Daniyal Kazeminejad was
arrested by Iranian security forces in Khoy City and subsequently
transferred to Dizelabad Prison in Kermanshah. He was later sentenced to
death by the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Court in Kermanshah on
charges of murdering Sajjad Amiri, a member of the Islamic Revolutionary
Guard Corps. Sajjad Amiri, a member of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard
Corps who had also served in Syria, was killed in Kermanshah on June 11,
2023. At the time, Iranian security institutions referred to Sajjad
Amiri as a <martyr of defending security,> stating that he was killed
during a security mission. It should be mentioned that Daniyal
Kazeminejad was from the 'Lor' village of Islamabad-e-Gharb, and last
year IRGC forces invaded this village and there was a violent conflict.
at that time Hengaw announced the summoning and arrest of nearly 160
people of this village. So far, the news of the execution of this
prisoner has not been announced in the Iranian state media, especially
the media affiliated with the judiciary.>>

Sharifeh Mohammadi
Hengaw Organisation for Human Right - 21 July 2024
<<New Case Framed Against Sharifeh Mohammadi-Special Interrogation Team
Dispatched to Lakan Prison
The Iranian Ministry of Intelligence has dispatched a special
interrogation team, comprising three interrogators and several
supervisors, to Lakan Prison in Rasht in an attempt to frame a new case
against Sharifeh Mohammadi. According to the report received by the
Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, In recent days, three
investigators and special observers from the Iranian Ministry of
Intelligence were dispatched from Tehran to Lakan Prison in Rasht to
fabricate a case against Sharifeh Mohammadi, based on obtaining a forced
confession. According to informed sources, this action was taken in
response to widespread domestic and international reactions to the death
sentence imposed on Sharifeh Mohammadi, aiming to provide the necessary
groundwork to justify the accusations. This special team is tasked with
obtaining a confession from Sharifeh Mohammadi, promising a reduction in
punishment and charges, to attach to the case file. The aim is to use
this confession in international circles to validate the charge of
<rebellion> and justify the death sentence of this political prisoner.
In July 2024, Sharifeh Mohammadi was charged by the First Branch of the
Iranian Islamic Revolution Court in Rasht, presided over by Judges Ahmed
Darwish Goftar and Mehdi Raskhi. She was accused of rebellion due to her
membership in the Coordination Committee for the Formation of Labor
Organizations and its alleged affiliation with the Komala Party. Based
on Articles 211 and 287 of the Islamic Penal Code of 2014, she was
sentenced to death. Earlier, referring to the received documents, Hengaw
wrote: <The aforementioned order was officially and personally
communicated to Ms. Sharifeh Mohammadi's lawyer, and the decision can be
appealed to the Supreme Court within 20 days after notification.> The
documents also state, <The country's intelligence organization is the
sole authority designated to identify gang members. All reports from the
Intelligence Department of Gilan Province and the Intelligence
Department of Kurdistan Province are included in the case file,
identifying the accused as a member of the Komala Party and the
Coordination Committee.> This underscores the lack of independence
within the Iranian Judiciary and highlights the significant influence of
security institutions over the judicial process. It is important to note
that the hearing for the charges against Sharifeh Mohammadi took place
on Saturday, June 8, 2024, in the First Branch of the Iranian Islamic
Revolutionary Court in Rasht. According to a previous report by Hengaw,
Sharifeh Mohammadi, a Gilak woman from Rasht, endured mental and
physical torture at the hands of Iranian Intelligence interrogators in
Sanandaj, who sought to extract a forced confession from her. On
Tuesday, December 5, 2023, Sharifeh Mohammadi was forcibly arrested at
her home in Rasht by Iranian Intelligence forces. Over the past seven
months (222 days), she has been held in the central prisons of Sanandaj
and Lakan in Rasht, as well as in detention centers operated by the
Iranian intelligence service.>>

Isa Ebrahimizadeh, a Kurdish labor activist from Oshnavieh (Shno),

Hunger Strike of a Prisoner
NCRI - Womens committee - 20 July 2024 - in Women's News
<<Hunger Strike of a Prisoner in Protest Against Brutal Torture
Beginning of the Hunger Strike and Sewing of Lips
According to an informed source, a female prisoner in Vakilabad Prison
in Mashhad started a hunger strike and sewed her lips shut on Thursday,
July 18, 2024, in protest against the brutal torture inflicted upon her.
This prisoner, referred to as 'Mrs. N,' is a mother of four and was
sentenced to prison after an unfair trial related to Golbahar Mehr
Housing. She has now been in Vakilabad Prison in Mashhad for nearly a
year.
Deprivation of Legal Rights
The prison authorities have deprived 'Mrs. N' of her legal right to
three days of leave per month. She wanted to see her children and being
denied her rightful leave, began a hunger strike in protest.
Torture and Transfer to Solitary Confinement
The director of the women's ward at Vakilabad Prison and a female prison
guard named Salari took her to a filthy stone cell without food or
water. For 30 hours, her hands were bound behind her back with iron
handcuffs, and her legs were tightly bound, causing her wrists to become
bruised and swollen. She is also denied access to necessary medical
facilities.
Family Complaints and Lack of Response
'Mrs. N’s' family has filed complaints with all relevant authorities,
including the Chief Justice of Khorasan Razavi Province, the Prosecutor
of Mashhad, the Prison Oversight Inspectorate, and the Prison
Supervising Judge, but they have received no response. The prison
authorities support the head of the women’s ward and the prison guards.
The Prison Supervising Judge told her family, <I will use my authority
to ensure your daughter does not get leave.>
Psychological and Physical Pressure
This female prisoner is under psychological and physical torture. Prison
authorities have deprived her of meeting her family, and when her
mother, after much effort, succeeded in meeting her, she could only see
her daughter in the presence of a female prison guard. She was told that
she had no right to talk about the hunger strike or the torture, or else
her visit would be canceled.>>
