<<Pezeshkian Reaffirms Iran's Support for <Resistance Movements>
Iran's president-elect, Masoud Pezeshkian, has reaffirmed Iran's
commitment to supporting Hezbollah. In a message to Hassan Nasrallah,
the Secretary General of Lebanon's Hezbollah, Pezeshkian emphasized that
the Islamic Republic of Iran has consistently supported regional <resistance>
against what he termed the <illegitimate Zionist regime.> He said that
this support is deeply rooted in <the fundamental policies of the
Islamic Republic of Iran> and aligns with the views of Ruhollah Khomeini
and Ali Khamenei. Pezeshkian accused Israel of <warmongering and crime,>
expressing confidence that regional resistance movements would prevent
Israel from continuing its <criminal policies against the oppressed
people of Palestine and other nations of the region.> This communication
follows a congratulatory message from Nasrallah to Pezeshkian on his
election victory. Nasrallah characterized all Islamic Republic
governments as <strong, stable, and permanent support> for the
resistance.>>

<<Lawyer Mohsen Borhani Arrested in Iran
Mohsen Borhani, a lawyer and professor at the University of Tehran, has
been arrested and transferred to prison. According to lawyer Sian
Yousefi, Borhani faces multiple accusations, including <spreading lies
with the intention of disturbing the public mind> and <behavior against
the affairs of the clergy by insulting the judges.> The news of
Borhani's arrest was first shared by his brother, Ahmad Borhani, on
social media. <After many ups and downs, despite remaining issues in the
case, Dr. Mohsen Borhani was arrested,> Ahmad Borhani said. Mizan, the
official news agency of Iran's judiciary, confirmed the arrest, saying,
<Mohsen Borhani, who was previously convicted in a judicial process and
whose sentence had been finalized, was summoned and sent to prison to
serve the court's legal sentence.> This development follows a pattern of
academic suppression in Iran. Last year, Borhani was among several
critical professors across various Iranian universities who were
suspended from their faculties and banned from teaching. This move was
part of a broader crackdown on dissenting voices within academic
institutions.>>

<<Water Pollution Suspected in Rezvanshahr Poisoning Incident
A growing health crisis has emerged in the northern Iranian city of
Rezvanshahr as reports indicate that at least 400 residents have been
poisoned, with numbers continuing to rise daily. According to the Etemad
newspaper, local sources suggest that the poisoning may be due to the <mixing
of sewage water with drinking water.> However, official statements have
been cautious, with relevant authorities seemingly reluctant to confirm
the exact cause. Taghi Ashubi, president of Guilan University of Medical
Sciences, said, <Initial investigations of people admitted to medical
centers indicate water pollution as the cause of poisoning, but the main
cause of this incident is still under investigation.> Nader Safavi, the
Governor of Rezvanshahr, confirmed that citizens have been experiencing
symptoms including nausea, body pain, and stomach burning. He added that
those affected have been treated at local hospitals and medical centers.
The head of Rezvanshahr Hospital has advised citizens to boil drinking
water before consumption, indicating ongoing concerns about water safety.
The hospital has reportedly also limited visits to those who have been
poisoned. Adding to the controversy, some sources and residents said
that the poisoning incidents began two weeks before the news was made
public.>>

Urgent Action for Her Release
According to media reports, Sharifeh Mohammadi, a political prisoner and
labor activist from the <Free Union of Iranian Workers> in Lakan Prison
in Rasht, has been unjustly accused of <bagh-ye> (rebellion) by Judge
Ahmad Darvish-Goftar in the revolutionary court of Rasht. This
fabricated charge carries the death penalty under the regime's religious
laws. Sharifeh Mohammadi has endured prolonged physical and
psychological torture by the Ministry of Intelligence to force a
confession. She has also been deprived of visits from her family and
child. The Women's Committee of the National Council of Resistance of

misogynistic clerical regime. It urges human rights and women's rights
advocates, especially the Special Rapporteur on human rights in Iran and
the Rapporteur on violence against women, to take immediate action for
the release of Sharifeh Mohammadi.
