Parvin Mousavi
Hengaw Organisation for Human Right - 16 may 2024
<<Riot in the women's ward of Urmia prison following Parvin Mousavi's
transfer to solitary confinement for execution
A woman prisoner in the women's ward of Urmia Central Prison, named
Parvin Mousavi, who was previously sentenced to death for drug-related
charges, was transferred to solitary confinement in this prison to carry
out her death sentence. Simultaneously, the prisoners of the <Naswan>
ward protested and clashed with the prison officers. According to the
report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, at dawn on
Thursday, May 16, 2024, a 50-year-old woman named Parvin Mousavi from
Maragheh, East Azerbaijan province, was transferred to solitary
confinement at Urmia Central Prison to carry out her death sentence. An
informed source confirmed that when Parvin Mousavi was transferred to
the cell, some women rioted and protested, and in the meantime, some
items inside the cell were set on fire. Pravin Mousavi was arrested four
years ago for drug-related charges and was sentenced to death by the
judicial system of the Islamic Republic of Iran. In June of last year,
she was transferred to a cell to carry out her death sentence and was
returned to the women's ward of Urmia Central Prison. This woman
prisoner was diagnosed with cancer in the prison, and her health status
was previously reported to be unfavorable.>>

And continue here for other be it not less 'red alert' news:
NCRI - Womens committee - 16 may 2024 - in Women's News
<<A poor woman, Razieh, 33, hanged in the Central Prison of Mashhad
At dawn on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, a woman was hanged in the Central
Prison of Mashhad, northeastern Iran. The woman named Razieh was a
victim of rampant poverty in Iran. Razieh, 33, had murdered her two
young children, 8 and 4 years old, eight years ago, in 2016, because she
could not feed them. Then, she cut her own wrist to take her own life,
but she was saved by her sister. At least two-thirds of the Iranian
population lives under the poverty line, with many living under what is
called the <death line.>
Razieh is the seventh woman executed in 2024.
According to the information compiled by the Women's Committee of the
National Council of Resistance of Iran, with the execution of Razieh,
the number of women executed in Iran since 2007, the number of women
executed reaches 237. The Iranian regime has again stepped up the wave
of executions in Iran fearing another potential uprising.
Record holder of executions of women
The Iranian regime is the world's top record holder of executions of
women.
No government in the world has executed so many women. The list does not
account for the tens of thousands of women executed in Iran on political
grounds. The NCRI Women's Committee previously mentioned that many of
the women executed by the mullahs' regime are themselves victims of
domestic violence against women and have acted in self-defense. An
average of 15 women were executed every year under the former government
in Iran. However, 26 women were executed under Raisi government in 2023,
which is 11 more than the previous average. The NCRI Women's Committee
calls on the United Nations, the European Union, and other relevant
international organizations to take urgent action to save the lives of
those on death row and stop the use of death penalty in Iran.>>

Hengaw Organisation for Human Right - 15 may 2024
<<Civil Rights Activist, Mohammad Davari, Transferred to Shiraz Central
Prison
Mohammad Davari, a Bakhtiari Lor civil activist from Dehdasht, a city in
Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad Province, has been arrested and transferred

Mohammad Davari was sentenced by Branch 1 of the Shiraz Revolutionary

imprisonment for <insulting Khamenei> and one year and six months for
<propaganda against the government,> with three years of the sentence to
be served. Additionally, this civil activist was sentenced to
supplementary punishments, including a two-year ban on leaving the

Khsraw Beshaarat
Hengaw Organisation for Human Right - 15 may 2024
<<Iran Executed Kurdish religious prisoner Khsraw Beshaarat
The death sentence of Khsraw Besharat, a Kurdish religious prisoner from
Mahabad, was carried out after he spent 15 years in Ghezel Hesar prison
in Karaj. He was transferred to solitary confinement two weeks before
his execution. According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization
for Human Rights on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, Khsraw Besharat, who had
been imprisoned for fifteen years, was executed in Ghezel Hesar prison
in Karaj. Coinciding with the execution of one of his co-defendants,
Anwar Khezri, Khsraw Besharat was also moved to solitary confinement on
Wednesday, May 1, 2024. Strongly condemning the execution of Khsraw
Besharat, the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights emphasizes that this
political prisoner faced a death sentence through a process that was
completely non-transparent, unfair, and illegal within the judicial
system of the Islamic Republic of Iran. In addition to the execution of
Anwar Khezri in recent weeks, four other individuals from Khsraw
Besharat's co-defendants group, namely Davud Abdullahi, Ayoub Karimi,
Qasim Abeste, and Farhad Salimi, were also executed in the same prison.
Khsraw Besharat, Farhad Salimi, Anwar Khezri, Qasim Abeste, Davoud
Abdullahi, Kamaran Shekha, and Ayoub Karimi were apprehended on December
7, 2009, by security forces and were subsequently transferred to the
intelligence agency detention center in Urmia City. Branch 28 of the
Tehran Revolutionary Court, under the leadership of Judge Moqiseh,
handed down the death sentences for these prisoners. The charges against
them in the alleged murder case of <Abdul Rahim Tina> included <action
against national security,> <propaganda against the government,>
<membership in Salafi groups,> and <corruption on earth.> The session
for the accusations against these 7 Kurdish religious prisoners took
place in March 2015, with the mentioned sentences officially
communicated to them on May 25, 2016. It's noteworthy that the verdict
was overturned by the 41st branch of the Iranian Supreme Court, headed
by Judge Razini, in 2017. An appeal was made to the 15th branch of the
Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Court in Tehran, where, in June 2017,
Khsraw Besharat and six other co-defendants were again sentenced to
death by Judge Abolqasem Salvati. This verdict was confirmed by the 41st
branch of the Iranian Supreme Court with repeated pressure from the
Iranian Intelligence Department in Urmia. On Monday, March 4, 2020, it
was officially communicated to Mahmoud Walizadeh Tabatabai, the lawyer
representing these seven Kurdish religious prisoners. These seven
individuals were initially incarcerated in Gohardasht prison and were
later transferred to Ghezel Hesar prison in Karaj on August 1, 2023,
following the evacuation of Gohardasht prison.>>

Iranwire - 15 May 2024
<<Iran Jails Workers' Rights Activist for 'Insulting Supreme Leader'
An Iranian Workers' rights advocate was transferred to Adelabad prison
on Tuesday to serve a three-year sentence. Mohammad Davari's conviction
stems from charges of <insulting the Supreme Leader of Iran> and
<propaganda against the Islamic Republic,> according to the Human Rights
Activists News Agency (HRANA). A source close to Davari's family
confirmed his incarceration to HRANA. The Shiraz Revolutionary Court,
presided over by Judge Mahmood Sadati, originally sentenced Davari to
four-and-a-half years in prison in November 2023. Under Article 134 of
the Islamic Penal Code, the harshest sentence is served when a person
faces multiple charges. Davari also faces additional restrictions,
including a two-year travel ban, a social media ban, and a mandatory
two-year residence in Bardsir County upon release. The specific actions
that led to the charges against Davari remain unclear. This is not
Davari's first brush with authorities. He has a history of arrests and
convictions related to his activism for workers' rights. Davari holds a
civil engineering degree from Yasuj University and is a Master's student
in political science at Shiraz Payam Noor University.>>

<<Security Crisis Stirs Iran With Violent Crimes, Brutal Hijab
Enforcement
Iran is facing a growing security crisis as violent incidents plague
cities and social media floods with outrage over police brutality
against women defying mandatory hijab laws. On Tuesday, images emerged
of a machete attack at a Delfan County hospital in Lorestan province.
Videos reportedly show attackers threatening individuals in the
emergency department. Local media claims the perpetrators were
apprehended, but the incident adds to a growing sense of unease among
people. Further fueling concerns, social media posts by Iranian
journalists expose armed robberies targeting homes in Tehran's Sardar
Jangal neighborhood. Witness accounts describe gunmen terrorizing
residents with Kalashnikovs and Colts, raising questions about the
effectiveness of the law enforcement. These incidents come amidst a
month-long crackdown on women, who oppose mandatory hijab, under the
government's <Noor plan.> Social media users have likened the police's
violent tactics against women to <enemy attacks> and compared them to
<ISIS brutality.> Videos obtained by IranWire depict police forces
beating and arresting women who refuse to wear the hijab. Authorities
claim an officer responsible for one particularly brutal assault has
been arrested, but the outrage continues. Many users feel a lack of
security for women and children, with some reports suggesting the
perpetrators in Tehran remain at large.>>

At least 1,559 people have died from work-related accidents in the past
nine months in Iran, according to a report released by the Forensic
Research Center. The head of the center, Mahmoud Khodadoost, identified
falls from heights, blunt force trauma, and electrocution as the leading
causes of death. The report also highlighted a significant regional

<<Iranian Petrochemical Workers Rally for Overdue Salaries
Contract workers at Iran's Makeran Petrochemical in the Chabahar Free
Trade Zone have been holding a rally since Saturday, demanding payment
of overdue salaries. According to the Iran's Labor News Agency (ILNA),
the company management has not provided a clear explanation for the
salary delays. <The situation at the company has been poor for the past
year,> a worker told ILNA. <After the Nowruz holiday [Iranian New Year
in March], the payment of our wages has stalled, and managers say they
can't pay.> This is not the first instance of delayed wages at Makeran
Petrochemical; workers held a similar protest in March for unpaid
arrears. The workers' frustration is exacerbated by a recent 35 per cent
wage increase approved by the Supreme Labor Council, which they consider
insufficient amid high inflation. Labor representatives have criticized
the raise as <outrageous> and are advocating for additional measures to
improve worker livelihoods, including an increase in housing allowances.
However, the government has upheld its stance, with the Minister of
Labor asserting that the current minimum wage is adequate.>>

<<Man Arrested After Criticizing Security Forces' Violence Against Him
Security forces of the Islamic Republic have arrested a man after he
protested some officials' behavior during his previous detention.
Jibraeel Pakrouh, a resident of Tabriz, was arrested by security forces
at his home on Monday. He had previously criticized the police force's
violent action against him and his family in videos posted on social
media. Before his arrest, Pakrouh was summoned by the Tabriz
Revolutionary Prosecutor's Office on charges of <spreading falsehoods.>
In a video message, his daughter and son stated that security forces
arrested him in a fragile physical condition and took him to an
undisclosed location. Pakrouh detailed the consequences of a previous
assault by officers from Tabriz's 1st Intelligence Base in a video
posted on social media in March. He stated that the attack led to him
getting three surgeries and multiple hospitalizations in the neurology
department of Tabriz's Razi Hospital. The video documented lasting
health problems, including blurred vision, balance issues, hearing
impairment, a drooping eyelid, and muscle weakness, significantly
impacting his daily life. Following this video's release, Tabriz police
threatened Pakrouh with arrest if he continued his protest. Despite
these threats, he continued to speak out in videos, criticizing the
extra-legal sentences issued against him, his brother, and his son. In
recent years, with the rise of anti-government protests, Iranian
authorities appear to the use of force by police to suppress dissent.>>
