Elementary school in Tehran hit
Al Jazeera - March 6, 2026 By Al Jazeera Staff, AP and Reuters
{Elementary school in Tehran hit, Iran’s foreign ministry says
Footage shared by Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman purportedly
shows destruction in Shahid Hamedani School in Tehran.
An elementary school in the Iranian capital Tehran’s Niloufar
Square has been struck in US-Israeli attacks, according to
Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson Esmaeil
Baghaei. Baghaei on Friday shared a video on X, purportedly
showing Shahid Hamedani School with students before and after
the attack, without elaborating on the circumstances or the
number of casualties. If confirmed, this would be the fourth
school hit in Iran since the war erupted. The Shajareh Tayyebeh
girls’ school in southern city of Minab, was the first to be hit
on Saturday, the first day of US and Israeli attacks against the
country. The attack killed 160 children and five staff,
according to UN experts. Some websites and social media accounts
linked to Israel claimed the site was “part of an Islamic
Revolutionary Guard Corps base”. An analysis by Al Jazeera’s
digital investigations unit of satellite imagery compiled over
more than a decade, as well as recent video clips, published
news reports and statements from official Iranian sources, has
revealed that the school had been clearly separate from an
adjacent military site for at least 10 years. The investigation
also showed that the strike pattern raises fundamental questions
about the accuracy of intelligence information on which the
bombing was based. The findings may even raise questions about
whether the strike was a deliberate targeting of the school.
Amid scrutiny over the incident, the US acknowledged its
military was investigating it. The Reuters news agency reported,
quoting two US officials, that US military investigators
believed it was likely that US forces were responsible for the
apparent strike, but had not yet reached a final conclusion. UN
rights chief Volker Turk on Friday urged Washington to move
“very quickly” with its probe, saying his body had asked the US
for “prompt, transparent and impartial investigations”. “We need
this to happen very quickly and we need to also make sure that
there is accountability as well as redress for the victims,” he
told reporters in Geneva.
Other attacks on schools
On Thursday, missiles fired by the US and Israel hit two other
schools in the town of Parand, southwest of Tehran, according to
state media. The Fars news agency shared photos of damage and
debris in what appeared to be a classroom and said several
nearby residential units also sustained damage in the attack on
Thursday. On Friday, UNICEF said that of the more than 1,300
people killed in the strikes on Iran so far, at least 181 were
children. Deliberately attacking a school would be a war crime,
and if a US role were to be confirmed, the strike would rank
among the worst cases of civilian casualties in decades of US
wars in the Middle East.}: Source: https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2026/3/6/elementary-school-in-tehran-hit-irans-foreign-ministry-says

Mohammad Reza Amiri
IranWire - March 6, 2026
{Mohammad Reza Amiri: Shot With Live Ammunition During Isfahan
Protests
According to information received by IranWire, Mohammad Reza
Amiri, 55, a father of two, was killed on January 9 during
protests in Basij Park in Isfahan after being shot in the
abdomen with live ammunition. Sources say clashes broke out in
the park that evening between protesters and security forces.
Amid the gunfire, a bullet struck Amiri in the stomach. A
bystander rushed to carry him to a corner of the park, hoping to
get help for him and others who had been injured. Later, it
became clear that the bullet had severed a major artery, and he
did not survive. Isfahan, Iran’s third-largest city, has long
been a center of anti-government protests. For readers outside
Iran, Basij Park carries heavy symbolism. It is named after the
regime’s paramilitary force and frequently becomes a focal point
during unrest. The use of “live ammunition” means military-grade
bullets, not rubber bullets or birdshot, pointing to what many
describe as a “shoot-to-kill” approach by security forces during
the 2026 protests. According to the same source, his family had
no information about what had happened to him for several days.
It was only on the evening of Tuesday, January 13, that his son
received a phone call saying his father’s body was at a cemetery
near Bagh-e Rezvan in Isfahan. The family began searching at
8:00 AM on Wednesday, January 14, and continued until midnight,
finally finding him later that night.
Relatives said the morgue was overwhelmed, with many bodies kept
in refrigerated vehicles, some stacked on top of each other.
After he was identified, Mohammad Reza Amiri’s body was
transferred to Shahin Shahr. The image of bodies stacked inside
refrigerated trucks is a chilling reminder of past crackdowns in
Iran, something the country witnessed during “Bloody November”
in 2019. It raises serious questions about whether the true
death toll from the 2026 protests is far higher than what state
media has admitted, with local morgues possibly struggling to
cope. Later that week, on Thursday, the Prosecutor’s Office
compelled the family to sign a written pledge stating that the
funeral would be held without a public gathering or large
ceremony. In the end, he was laid to rest on Friday, January 16,
under heavy security presence and pressure. Mohammad Reza Amiri
worked as a welder, making doors and windows to support his
family. He leaves behind a daughter and a son.}: Source: https://iranwire.com/en/news/149988-mohammad-reza-amiri-shot-with-live-ammunition-during-isfahan-protests/

Women’s National Footballers
IranWire - March 6, 2026
{Exclusive: IRGC Threatens Women’s National Footballers With
Family Arrests
A source familiar with the situation told IranWire that security
agencies have pressured the players and coaching staff of Iran’s
Women’s National Football Team after their match against South
Korea by threatening their families. According to the source,
tensions escalated after the Women’s Asian Cup match between
Iran and South Korea, when several players and coaches declined
to sing the Islamic Republic’s national anthem during the
pre-game ceremony. In response, security bodies - working
alongside the Football Federation and the Ministry of Sport and
Youth - reportedly reached out to the players’ immediate family
members. They warned that if the team members continue to refuse
to sing the anthem or decline to perform a “military salute” in
the second match, their relatives would face arrest. In Iran,
choosing not to sing the national anthem has evolved into a
powerful act of quiet resistance, particularly since the “Woman,
Life, Freedom” protests in 2022. For readers outside the
country, the “military salute” refers to a gesture the state has
increasingly required from athletes as a public display of
loyalty to the Supreme Leader and the Revolutionary Guard
(IRGC), especially in periods of heightened conflict. This
tactic has been used before. In 2022, when climber Elnaz Rekabi
competed in South Korea without wearing the mandatory hijab,
IRGC Intelligence reportedly detained her brother, Davood
Rekabi. The move was widely seen as pressure to compel Elnaz to
return to Iran, where she later appeared at Khomeini Airport and
delivered what many described as a forced confession. The
informed source told IranWire that the players of the Women’s
National Team have been warned that if they fail to sing the
state anthem, fail to perform the military salute, or attempt to
seek asylum in Australia and refuse to return to Iran, their
immediate family members, such as parents, spouses, or siblings,
will be detained by IRGC Intelligence. Mohammad Reza Shahbazi, a
host on state-run television (IRIB), reacted on Thursday, March
5, to the players’ refusal to sing the anthem against South
Korea. He called the players “dishonorable” and urged officials
to treat them as “traitors in a time of war” so that “the rest
will learn to fall in line.” The term “bi-sharaf” is a highly
charged insult in Iran, often used by pro-regime hardliners
against dissidents. Calling for athletes to be treated as
“traitors in a time of war” is an implicit threat of the death
penalty or long-term imprisonment under military tribunal rules,
which are currently active given the 2026 conflict with the U.S.
and Israel. According to information obtained by IranWire, since
January 10, Mohsen Motamed-Kia, the head of Public Relations at
the Ministry of Sport and Youth, has been responsible for
submitting daily reports to IRGC Intelligence detailing
athletes’ social media activity and personal interactions. The
Football Federation, led by Mehdi Taj - a retired brigadier
general from IRGC Intelligence in Isfahan - has also maintained
close coordination with security and state agencies in recent
years.}: Source: https://iranwire.com/en/news/149978-exclusive-irgc-threatens-womens-national-footballers-with-family-arrests/

toll of destruction and human losses
Jinhagency - Womens News Agency - March 6, 2026
{Tehran most affected Iran reveals toll of destruction and human
losses
The Iranian Red Crescent announced that U.S-Israel attacks on
Iran have resulted in the deaths of 1332 civilians and damage to
3643 civilian facilities, including thousands of homes and
service and medical establishments.
News Center — Since the attacks on Iran began on February 28,
Tehran has topped the list of the most affected areas, while
Hormozgan ranked second in terms of human losses. The Iranian
Red Crescent announced today, Friday, March 6, that 1,332
civilians have been killed since the beginning of the attacks,
noting that 3,643 civilian facilities were damaged during the
U.S.–Israeli strikes on the country. The organization stated
that the damage included 3,090 residential homes and 528
commercial and service centers, in addition to 14 medical and
pharmaceutical facilities and nine Red Crescent centers. The
attacks also damaged several ambulances and operational relief
vehicles. The Iranian capital Tehran witnessed the largest scale
of destruction, along with a wide range of civilian targets hit
by the bombardment. Vital facilities were targeted, including
Gandhi Hospital, Vali-e Asr Hospital, Khatam al-Anbiya Hospital,
Motahari Hospital, and the Red Crescent Comprehensive
Rehabilitation Center. The strikes also affected the Grand
Bazaar of Tehran, Mehrabad Airport, several educational
institutions, and sports facilities, including Azadi Stadium,
which has a capacity of 12,000 spectators, as well as densely
populated residential neighborhoods. The cities of Hormozgan
came next in terms of human casualties. On February 28, the
United States and Israel carried out a series of airstrikes on
targets inside Iran, including the capital Tehran, resulting in
widespread destruction and civilian casualties, in addition to
the killing of Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and a number
of commanders of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and the
army. Iran responded to the U.S.–Israeli attack with military
operations whose effects extended to eight countries in the
region: Iraq, Israel, Jordan, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, the United
Arab Emirates, and Saudi Arabia.}: Source: https://jinhaagency.com/en/actual/tehran-most-affected-iran-reveals-toll-of-destruction-and-human-losses-38713

{The expansion of the war in the Middle East and the increasing
losses have seen Iran
record the highest number of casualties since the outbreak of
the American-Israeli war, as the conflict spreads to include
Gulf countries alongside the Lebanese escalation
News Center_ On the seventh day of the Israeli American war on
Iran, the Middle East has turned into an open battlefield that
has exceeded geographical borders, as hundreds of people have
been killed in Iran since the escalation began on February 28.
Yesterday, Thursday, March 5, UNICEF issued a statement
expressing deep concern over the ongoing military escalation in
Iran and its severe impact on children, noying that
approximately 180 children have been killed and many others
injured. The statement said “Among the victims, 168 girls were
killed in an Israeli airstrike targeting Shajira Taybeh
Elementary School for Girls in Minab, southern Iran, on February
28,” pointing out that “most of the victims were students aged
between 7 and 12 years, in addition to 12 children killed in
other schools at different locations in Iran.” The statement
clarified that “these losses of children’s lives are a stark
reminder of the brutality of war and the violence inflicted upon
them, which affects families and communities for generations,”
adding that schools must be safe under international
humanitarian law.”
With the continuation of military strikes across the
region, the statement noted that children are increasingly
exposed to violence, and the attacks are affecting essential
civilian infrastructure, posing a direct threat to the safety of
civilians. It highlighted that at least 20 schools and 10
hospitals in Iran have been damaged, which hinders children’s
access to education and essential health services. UNICEF
concluded its statement by urgently calling on “all parties to
fulfill their obligations under international law and ensure the
protection of civilians in accordance with international
humanitarian law.”
Rising number of casualties
According to available data up to Friday, March 6, the seventh
day of the war, Iran has recorded the highest number of
fatalities, as the Iranian Red Crescent humanitarian
organization reported last Wednesday that 1,045 civilians and
military personnel had been killed. In Israel, medical sources
reported the deaths of 10 civilians, including nine in an
Iranian missile strike targeting the city of Beit Shemesh near
Jerusalem on March 1. In Lebanon, the death toll rose to 123
with 683 injured, according to the Public Health Emergency
Operations Center of the Lebanese Ministry of Health yesterday
evening. In Syria, media sources reported that four people were
killed due to an Iranian missile strike on a building in the
city of As-Suwayda, southern Syria.}: Video - Source: https://jinhaagency.com/en/actual/the-expansion-of-the-war-in-the-middle-east-and-the-increasing-losses-have-seen-iran-38710
Al Jazeera - March 6, 2026 By Al Jazeera Staff, AP and Reuters
{Tehran hit by heavy bombing on day seven of US-Israel war on
Iran
An Al Jazeera correspondent in Tehran describes the bombardment
in Iran’s capital as more intense than previously seen. Intense
air attacks have pounded Tehran and other Iranian cities on the
seventh day of the US-Israeli war on the country, amid warnings
from United States Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth that the
bombardment was “about to surge dramatically”. Israel’s military
said Friday morning it had begun a new “broad-scale wave of
strikes” on Tehran, while the US said its B-2 bombers had
dropped dozens of “penetrator” bombs on deeply buried ballistic
missile launchers inside the country. Huge explosions hit
several locations in the Iranian capital, Tehran, overnight,
including residential areas and the vicinity of Tehran
University, according to news reports and an Al Jazeera team on
the ground. An Iranian military academy was also struck, while a
journalist from Iran’s state broadcaster was reporting live near
the site. Reporting from Tehran, Al Jazeera’s Tohid Asadi said
the bombardment in the capital had been more intense than
previously seen, with many attacks in the east and southeast of
Tehran. “From the very early hours of today and into the
morning, we have been witnessing a continued wave of massive
strikes,” he said, adding the shockwaves of the blast could be
felt in the bureau of Al Jazeera. “I can say that compared to
previous days, we saw heavier bombardment overnight, at least in
the capital,” he said, reporting enormous explosions and fighter
jets in the skies, and a huge column of thick smoke rising from
an air attack. He said the targets reportedly included military
locations but also civilian sites, including residential
buildings, parking lots and gas stations.
Buried missile launchers bombed: US
Explosions were also reported around the Iranian city of
Kermanshah, in an area home to multiple missile bases, as well
as in the cities of Shiraz and Isfahan. The Israeli military
said attacks have already destroyed most of Iran’s air defences
and missile launchers. Admiral Brad Cooper, head of US Central
Command (CENTCOM) said that early Friday, US B-2 stealth bombers
dropped dozens of 2,000lb “penetrator” bombs on deeply buried
ballistic missile launchers inside Iran. “We’ve also struck
Iran’s equivalent of Space Command, which degrades their ability
to threaten Americans,” Cooper said. Speaking alongside Cooper,
Hegseth described an upcoming surge in the bombardment. “It’s
more fighter squadrons, it’s more capabilities, it’s more
defensive capabilities,” Hegseth said. “And it’s more bomber
pulses more frequently.”

dozens of children killed
US ‘likely responsible’ for school attack: Report
At least 1,230 people have been killed in the attacks on Iran
since Saturday, Iranian state media has reported. UNICEF said on
Friday that at least 181 children were among the dead. Among the
young victims were at least 175 children killed when a girls’
school in Minab, in southern Iran, was hit on the first day of
the US and Israeli strikes on Iran, according to the IRGC. Amid
scrutiny over the incident, Hegseth on Wednesday acknowledged
the US military was investigating it. The Reuters news agency
reported, quoting two US officials, that US military
investigators believed it was likely that US forces were
responsible for the apparent strike, but have not yet reached a
final conclusion. Deliberately attacking a school would be a war
crime, and if a US role were to be confirmed, the strike would
rank among the worst cases of civilian casualties in decades of

Hengaw - March 6, 2026
{Detainees injured after airstrikes hit security facilities in
Sanandaj
Several detainees and Kurdish political prisoners were injured
after Israeli and U.S. airstrikes targeted security facilities
in the city of Sanandaj (Sine), including the Intelligence
Department building and the Shahramfar base of the Islamic
Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). According to information
received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, the strikes
occurred in the early hours of Monday, March 2, when Israeli and
U.S. fighter jets targeted the Intelligence Department building
and the IRGC Shahramfar base in Sanandaj. A number of detainees
who had been held in these facilities in recent months were
injured in the attacks. It remains unclear whether any detainees
were killed. Sources inside Kosar Hospital in Sanandaj told
Hengaw that the hospital’s VIP ward has been under the control
of Iranian government forces for the past three days. Several
injured detainees are being held and treated in this ward under
strict security measures. According to these sources, the ward
is guarded around the clock and access to the area is tightly
controlled by security forces. In separate accounts, residents
of Sanandaj told Hengaw that the families of several recently
detained individuals, who had been held at the Shahramfar base
and other security facilities in the city, have attempted to
obtain information about their relatives by visiting locations
targeted in the airstrikes. According to these accounts, some
families, after receiving no information from authorities,
searched the areas surrounding the targeted facilities out of
concern that detainees might have been among those killed or
injured. However, military forces prevented them from
approaching the sites, and their efforts to obtain information
about their relatives have remained unsuccessful. Hengaw had
previously issued an urgent warning regarding the situation of
prisoners during wartime conditions. Based on multiple reports
received by the organization, the situation of prisoners,
particularly political prisoners and individuals detained during
recent protests, has been assessed as deeply concerning.
According to these reports, many families remain unaware of the
location and condition of their detained relatives. In some
prisons, ward doors have been locked by prison authorities, a
situation that could place detainees at serious risk in the
event of further attacks. Hengaw has also emphasized that under
Resolution No. 211 of the Iranian Judiciary regarding the
reduction of prison populations during emergency conditions,
authorities are obligated to take measures to protect the lives
of prisoners. These measures may include conditional release,
modification of detention orders, acceptance of bail, or
transferring prisoners to safer locations. However, recent
reports indicate that the location and condition of many
detainees remain unclear, and concerns about their fate and
health continue to grow. Under Article 83 of the Fourth Geneva
Convention, holding detainees near active combat zones or
strategic military targets constitutes a serious violation of
international humanitarian law. States are obligated to
guarantee the safety of detainees as “protected persons.”
Failure to transfer prisoners to safe locations and withholding
information from families not only violates the UN Body of
Principles for the Protection of All Persons under Any Form of
Detention or Imprisonment (Principle 16), but under current
circumstances may also amount to a grave disregard for the right
to life and a form of psychological suffering inflicted on their
families. Emphasizing the direct responsibility of the Islamic
Republic of Iran for the lives and health of all detainees,
Hengaw calls on international bodies and United Nations human
rights mechanisms to intervene urgently to ensure the protection
of prisoners, guarantee their immediate access to medical care,
and demand transparency regarding the location and condition of
detainees. Source: Hengaw English}: https://hengaw.net/en/news/2026/03/article-2

{Regime Uses Schools and Universities to House Military
Personnel
An informed source says officials within the Islamic Republic
have initiated what they describe as a “manufactured casualties”
project. By placing military personnel inside civilian
facilities, they aim to further this strategy and sway public
opinion among Western citizens who are opposed to the war. A
former government official who also served in the Islamic
Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) during the eight-year Iran-Iraq
war, speaking on condition of anonymity, told IranWire that as
military installations come under attack, authorities are using
buildings belonging to Islamic Azad University and various
schools to accommodate military forces. The source states that
officials are aware that European and American citizens oppose
war; if the U.S. and Israel target civilian centers, the
political and social cost of the war would increase for them.
The source stressed that many of the universities and schools
being used are situated in densely populated residential areas.
If those sites are struck, civilian casualties would be highly
likely - a scenario the Islamic Republic is allegedly prepared
to leverage to its advantage. Earlier reports had also pointed
to the use of hospitals and schools for meetings involving
Islamic Republic officials. Two days ago, Esmaeil Baghaei, the
spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, held a press
conference inside a school classroom. In addition, the first
image released from the “Temporary Leadership Council” meeting
raised speculation that the session may have taken place in a
hospital setting.}: Source: https://iranwire.com/en/news/149945-iran-using-schools-and-universities-to-house-military-personnel/

{Qarchak Prison: Women Prisoners Face Water Shortage and
Uncertainty Amid War
Reports received indicate that Qarchak Prison in Varamin, which
holds female prisoners, is facing a critical situation under
current wartime conditions.
A number of staff members from various sections of the prison,
including medical personnel, infirmary staff, administrative
employees, and even prison guard units, have reportedly left
their posts. As a result, many matters related to the management
and welfare of prisoners have been left in a state of
uncertainty.
The absence of staff has severely disrupted the processing of
inmate requests, the distribution of basic supplies, and the
provision of medical services. Prisoners have complained about
the lack of response from prison authorities and are facing
numerous difficulties in securing their basic needs. At the same
time, legal experts are warning that, in order to prevent
potential dangers, the implementation of Resolution No. 211 of
the Supreme Judicial Council is essential under the current
wartime circumstances.
Shortage of Drinking Water and Closure of the Prison Store
One of the most serious problems in Qarchak Prison is the
shortage of safe drinking water. Even prior to the current
wartime situation, the prison had struggled with access to clean
and safe water. With the escalation of the conflict, the crisis
has intensified, and prisoners now face significant restrictions
in accessing drinking water. Meanwhile, the prison store has
also ceased operations. The closure of the store has created
serious obstacles for prisoners attempting to obtain essential
goods and has further worsened their living conditions. As a
result, many inmates are struggling to secure their most basic
necessities.
Poor Health and Sanitary Conditions
Qarchak Prison, which was established in a building that
previously functioned as a poultry facility, has long suffered
from structural and infrastructural deficiencies. Reports point
to contaminated drinking water, poor-quality food, a shortage of
medical equipment, and inadequate ventilation as chronic
problems within the facility. Severe overcrowding in prison
wards is another major concern. Due to the lack of adequate
space, many prisoners are forced to sleep on the floor.
According to multiple sources, the prison infirmary also lacks
essential medical equipment. The absence of basic devices such
as blood pressure monitors, oxygen equipment, and facilities for
specialized medical examinations has been reported as a serious
issue.
Urgent Need to Implement Resolution 211 in Wartime Conditions
Under the current circumstances, legal experts are emphasizing
the necessity of implementing Resolution No. 211 of the Supreme
Judicial Council, which was adopted in 1986 to manage emergency
situations arising from wartime conditions. Under this
resolution, the judiciary is obligated to take necessary
measures to protect the lives of prisoners. These measures may
include converting detention orders, granting conditional
release, accepting bail or surety, and transferring prisoners to
safer locations. According to this regulation, if ordinary
conditions are insufficient to ensure the safety of detainees,
prosecutors may temporarily release non-dangerous prisoners
until the emergency situation is resolved. Legal experts stress
that given the current wartime conditions and potential risks,
implementing this resolution is essential to reduce dangers and
protect the lives of prisoners.}: Source: https://wncri.org/2026/03/05/qarchak-prison-women-prisoners-water-shortage/
Center for Human Rights in Iran, March 5, 2026
{Civilians Must Be Protected Across the Middle East
The Center for Human Rights in Iran (CHRI) is gravely concerned
about the safety of civilians as military attacks on civilian
areas throughout the region intensify. We call on all parties to
refrain from attacking residential areas, hospitals, emergency
services, public utilities, and other essential civilian
infrastructure, and to do everything possible to protect
civilian lives in all of the countries affected by the ongoing
conflict. We further call on all parties to refrain from any
actions that could endanger the safety of vulnerable prisoners
and detainees in Iran. We remind all parties to the conflict
that many detainees in Iran are not held in official detention
facilities, but rather in local government, security, and police
centers that have come under attack. In addition, thousands of
forcibly disappeared protesters held in unidentified “black box”
detention facilities are especially at risk of coming under
attack. We also remind all parties to the conflict of the
growing number of displaced persons, with huge numbers
reportedly fleeing cities coming under attack across the region.
There should be safe corridors for people evacuating cities, and
access to shelter, food, water, and medical care must be
maintained for displaced people. Access to food, water, and
medical care must also be maintained in all prisons and
detention centers. There are alarming reports of the lack of
food and water in prisons in Iran. Especially vulnerable groups,
including not only prisoners and detainees, but also children,
the elderly, people with disabilities, and the displaced, must
be in protected zones. Restoration of internet access in Iran
must be a priority for the international community. The Iranian
authorities’ internet shutdown means civilians cannot access
critical safety information, emergency services, or evacuation
orders, and Iranians cannot find loved ones who are in state
custody—an especially difficult task given that the Iranian
authorities have been transferring prisoners. It also raises the
risk of serious abuse or secret executions of prisoners and
detainees by judicial and prison authorities, especially given
the Iranian Judiciary Chief’s recent statement that “individuals
who cooperate with the enemy in any manner will be considered
the enemy.” CHRI is extraordinarily concerned about the
potential for retaliatory violence by Iranian authorities
against prisoners and detainees. CHRI urges all parties to the
conflict to adhere to international humanitarian law, most
notably the Geneva Convention of 1949 and additional protocols,
which establish clear protections for civilians during armed
conflict, prohibiting the targeting of civilians, indiscriminate
attacks, and the use of weapons or tactics that cause
disproportionate harm to civilian populations.}: Source: https://iranhumanrights.org/2026/03/civilians-must-be-protected-across-the-middle-east/
