Varisha Moradi
Hengaw Organisation for Human Right - March 29, 2025
<<Varisheh Moradi denied medical treatment despite critical health
condition in Evin Prison
Varisheh Moradi, a Kurdish political prisoner, women’s rights advocate,
and a member of KJAR (the East Kurdistan Free Women’s Society) has been
sentenced to death by the Iranian judiciary on charges of “armed
rebellion”. Despite her urgent need for medical care, she has been
denied treatment due to obstruction by government authorities,
particularly Evin Prison officials. According to a report received by
the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Varisheh Moradi, a Kurdish
political prisoner from Sanandaj currently held in Evin Prison, has been
refused transfer to medical facilities outside the prison. Sources
familiar with the matter state that Moradi suffers from lumbar and
cervical disc disease. Despite a specialist’s strong recommendation for
urgent surgery three months ago, authorities have deliberately
obstructed her access to medical care. Previously, Hengaw reported that
Moradi was subjected to severe torture at the Intelligence Ministry’s
detention center in Sanandaj. In one instance, she vomited blood and
lost consciousness due to the intensity of the torture. Varisheh Moradi
was sentenced to death by Branch 15 of Tehran’s Revolutionary Court,
presided over by Judge Abolqasem Salavati, on charges of “armed
rebellion” through membership in the Free Life Party of Kurdistan (PJAK).
During both the first and second court sessions, Moradi’s lawyers were
denied access to her case file, and she was not allowed to defend
herself in court. In a separate case involving four other political
prisoners in Evin Prison, Moradi was sentenced by Branch 2 of the Qods
Judicial Complex in Tehran, presided over by Judge Abolfazl Ameri
Shahrabi, to six months of discretionary imprisonment. On Tuesday,
December 26, 2023, after five months of solitary confinement in the
Intelligence Ministry’s detention facility—known as Ward 209 of Evin
Prison—Moradi was transferred to the women’s ward of the prison. She had
initially been moved to Ward 209 in late August 2023, following
interrogation and torture at the Sanandaj Intelligence Ministry’s
detention center. Varisheh Moradi was abducted by Intelligence Ministry
agents on August 1, 2023, while traveling from Marivan to Sanandaj.
During the abduction, she was brutally beaten and was transferred to a
detention center without receiving any medical attention.

<<Hackers Claim Access to 42 Million Sepah Bank Records, Bank Denies
Breach
A hacking group identifying itself as “Codebreakers” has claimed to have
breached the data of 42 million Sepah Bank customers in Iran, including
information belonging to military personnel. The group said they
provided a 72-hour window for the bank to negotiate before the data
would be released. According to posts on the group’s Telegram channel,
Sepah Bank officials declined to pay any amount to protect the
compromised customer information. Reza Hamedanchi, head of Sepah Bank’s
Public Relations Department, said, “This claim is fundamentally false.
Sepah Bank’s systems are unhackable and impenetrable.” Hamedanchi added
that the bank’s systems operate on closed networks with no internet
connection. Following the denial, the hackers published what they claim
is Hamedanchi’s personal account information from the bank. The group
has threatened to release data from 20,000 people and corporate
customers due to what they describe as the bank’s indifference to the
security breach.>>

Benyamin Rahimpour, former Kurdish political prisoner, sentenced to one
year in prison
Benyamin Rahimpour, a former Kurdish political prisoner from Sanandaj
(Sine), has been sentenced by the Iranian judiciary to one year in
prison. According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for
Human Rights, Benyamin Rahimpour, a 35-year-old resident of Sanandaj
originally from the village of "Avihang," married and a father of two,
has recently been sentenced by the Islamic Revolutionary Court of
Sanandaj to one year in prison on charges of "propaganda against the
regime" and "propaganda in favor of the Democratic Party of Iranian
Kurdistan." The trial for this person was held on February 10, 2025, at
Branch 1 of the Sanandaj Revolutionary Court, and the verdict was
communicated to him on February 14. On January 22, 2025, Benyamin
Rahimpour was violently arrested at his workplace by security forces
without being presented with any judicial warrant and was transferred to
the IRGC Intelligence Detention Center, known as "Shahramfar Detention
Center" in Sanandaj. He was ultimately released on February 9, after
spending 19 days in solitary confinement under IRGC Intelligence
custody, on a temporary basis pending the completion of legal
proceedings, upon posting a bail of 500 million tomans. Notably, during
his detention, he was deprived of access to a lawyer and denied
visitation and communication with his family. It is worth mentioning
that Benyamin Rahimpour had previously been arrested on May 3, 2020,
along with his brother, Tareq Rahimpour, when security forces raided
their family home. At the time, he had been charged with "collaboration
with the Democratic Party of Iranian Kurdistan" and sentenced by Branch
1 of the Sanandaj Revolutionary Court, presided over by Judge Saeedi, to
18 months of a suspended prison term and six months of an enforceable
prison sentence. He was subsequently arrested again on January 28, 2023,
after being summoned to Branch 1 of the Sanandaj Enforcement of
Judgments Office to serve his six-month prison term and was transferred
to the central prison of this city.>>

Hamid Hosseinnezhad Heydaranlou
Hengaw Organisation for Human Right - March 29, 2025
<<Death Sentence of Kurdish political prisoner Hamid Hosseinnezhad
Heydaranlou upheld by Iran’s Supreme Court.
The Supreme Court of the Islamic Republic of Iran has upheld the death
sentence of Hamid Hosseinnezhad Heydaranlou, a Kurdish political
prisoner from Chaldoran currently held at Urmia Central Prison. He was
previously sentenced to death on the charge of baghi (armed rebellion).
According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human
Rights, Branch 9 of the Supreme Court officially confirmed the execution
order for 40-year-old Hamid Hosseinnezhad Heydaranlou, a resident of
Sagrik village in Chaldoran. The verdict was formally communicated to
him on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at Urmia Central Prison. He has now
spent 716 days in detention. In July 2024, Branch 1 of the Urmia
Revolutionary Court, presided over by Judge Najafzadeh, sentenced
Heydaranlou to death on charges of baghi, based on alleged membership in
the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK). The sentence was issued following a
brief trial and relied solely on the judge’s personal knowledge (elm-e
qazi), without the presentation of concrete evidence. Following an
appeal in August 2024, the case was referred to the Supreme Court.
Sources informed Hengaw that Heydaranlou was denied the right to legal
representation both during his detention and throughout the trial
process. He was held for 11 months and 10 days at the Urmia Intelligence
Detention Center under intense psychological and physical pressure.
During this time, he was denied visitation rights and allowed only two
phone calls. He was subjected to torture and coerced into making
confessions, including admitting to armed actions against Iranian border
forces and the killing of at least eight security personnel. The court,
acting under pressure from the Intelligence Ministry, linked Heydaranlou
to retaliatory attacks allegedly in response to the 2015 killing of his
brother-in-law, Mostafa Nouri, by state forces while working as a kolbar
(border porter).
Hamid Hosseinnezhad Heydaranlou was arrested on Thursday, April 13,
2023, near the Chaldoran border along with several Afghan nationals by
border forces. He was initially taken to a local security detention
facility. However, due to a prior arrest warrant issued by the
Intelligence Ministry, his request for release on bail was denied, and
he was subsequently transferred to the Intelligence Detention Center in
Urmia. In early February 2025, he was moved to Ward 2 of Urmia Central
Prison, where he remains imprisoned.>>

<<Iran executes 1,153 people in one year
Iran executed 1,153 people between March 21, 2024 and March 20, 2025,
the National Council of Resistance in Iran (NCRI) said in a report on
Wednesday.
News Center- Iranian authorities continue to use executions following
unfair trials or for charges, such as drug offenses. The National
Council of Resistance in Iran (NCRI) published Wednesday a comprehensive
report on the executions carried out in the country in the Iranian year
1403 (March 21, 2024 – March, 20, 2025). 1,153 people were executed in
94 prisons, a 42% increase compared to March 21, 2023 and March 20,
2024, the report said. 961 of these executions (83%) took place in Iran
during the presidency of Masoud Pezeshkian, 38 women and seven minors
were among the victims of the executions, according to the report.
“While the regime’s policy of warmongering has suffered irreparable
blows and it feels the imminent threat of uprising and overthrow, it has
drastically accelerated the pace of executions and killings,” said
Maryam Rajavi, the president of the council. “The international
community must condition any dealings with the godfather of executions
and terrorism on the cessation of torture and executions, refer Iran’s
human rights violations file to the UN Security Council, and bring

Liyan Darvish and Farzaneh Mohammadi Parsa
NRCI - March 27, 2025 - In Women's news
<<Liyan Darvish and Farzaneh Mohammadi Parsa: Alarming Conditions for
Political Prisoners in Evin Prison
Two political prisoners, Liyan Darvish, and Farzaneh Mohammadi Parsa,
are facing severe hardships and violations of their basic rights in Evin
Prison.
Liyan Darvish, a 40-year-old mother from Gilan Province, has been held
in the women’s ward of Evin Prison since March 2024, serving a five-year
sentence on charges including <assembly and collusion against national
security,> <insulting Khamenei,> and <propaganda against the regime.>
She is currently suffering from a severe kidney and bladder infection
and is in urgent need of medical treatment. However, prison authorities
have repeatedly denied her access to proper healthcare and transfer to a
hospital. In addition, despite her parole request being approved and the
legal timeframe for its implementation having arrived, officials have
refused to release Liyan Darvish. An initial promise of short-term
medical leave has also failed to materialize, adding significant
psychological strain to her already dire physical condition.
Meanwhile, Farzaneh Mohammadi Parsa, another political detainee, remains
in limbo in the women’s ward of Evin Prison more than 90 days after her
arrest. Farzaneh Mohammadi Parsa, a dentist from Abadan, was detained on
December 25, 2024, by security forces at her home in Tehran, where she
was reportedly beaten during the arrest. After spending over 40 days in
the notorious Ward 209—operated by the Ministry of Intelligence—she was
transferred to the women’s ward on February 11. To date, neither her
charges have been clarified nor has she been granted the option of
release on bail. The plight of these two women underscores growing
concerns over human rights abuses, lack of medical care, and judicial
uncertainty in Evin Prison.>>
