<<Sarvenaz Ahmadi ends her hunger strike
Sarvenaz Ahmadi, social worker and children's rights defender who

of her request for medical leave, has ended her strike.
News Center- Sarvenaz Ahmadi, a children's rights activist
imprisoned in Evin prison, has ended her medication strike, her mother
announced on Sunday. In an Instagram post, her mother said that her
daughter ended her medication strike on the 30th day of her strike after

prison for medical leave.
Sarvenaz Ahmadi, who suffers from neurological and psychological

Revolutionary Court on charges of <assembly and collusion with the

years and six months by Branch 36 of the Tehran Court of Appeals. She
was arrested on April 28, 2023, ahead of International Workers' Day,

<<Bukan: Seven IRGC Members Killed and Injured in Armed Clash
At least four members of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC)
were killed and three others were seriously injured in an armed clash
with an unidentified armed group near the city of Bukan, West Azerbaijan
(Urmia) province. One of the injured was airlifted to Urmia for medical
treatment due to the severity of his injuries. According to a report
received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, the armed
confrontation took place at approximately 2:00 a.m. on Monday, October
7, 2024, at a checkpoint on the Bukan Dam road between IRGC forces and
an unknown armed group.

whom were transferred to Qolipour Hospital in Bukan." It has been
learned that one of the injured, a member of the IRGC, was transported
by helicopter to medical facilities in Urmia due to the severity of his
injuries. Additionally, Iranian security forces have warned the medical
staff at Qolipour Hospital against disclosing any information and have
confiscated the mobile phones of several hospital personnel. Following
the clash, the area has been heavily militarized, and all movement on
the Bukan Dam road has been prohibited. Local farmers attempting to
access the area have also been denied entry. So far, no official
statement has been made by IRGC-affiliated media, and no Kurdish party

Gurbetelli Ersoz, Deniz Fırat and Nujiyan Erhan
Jinha - Womens News Agency - Oct 7 2024 - by EBIR MUHAMED
<<Kurdish Women Journalists' Day: We keep reporting the truth
"We keep reporting the truth by following in the footsteps of
women journalists, who lost their lives while reporting the truth such
as Gurbetelli Ersoz, Deniz Fırat and Nujiyan Erhan."
Qamishlo- Kurdish women journalists in four parts of Kurdistan
and all around the world are celebrating Kurdish Women’s Journalist Day,
October 7. The day is dedicated to the memory of Gurbetelli Ersoz, a
Kurdish journalist and Türkiye’s first female editor-in-chief who was
killed on October 7, 1997.
'We maintain the legacy of the martyrs'
"As women journalists in North and East Syria, we maintain the
legacy of the martyrs such as Gurbetelli Ersoz, Deniz Fırat and Nujiyan
Erhan," Cudi Eli, a reporter of Ronahî TV in North and East Syria, told
NuJINHA. "They left us achievements in Kurdish journalism. Women
journalists played an important role in the development of the press in
Rojava Kurdistan. Their struggle paves the way for us. Therefore, we see
them as pioneers of truth. We keep reporting the truth by following in
the footsteps of them. Thanks to them, women in Rojava have their own
channels, magazines, news agencies and radio stations today."
'The attacks cannot intimidate us'
Eva Hese, a television presenter at Rojava TV, recalled the
Turkish drone attack that killed two journalists in Sulaymaniyah,
Kurdistan Region of Iraq. "The Turkish state always tries to break the
strong will of Kurdish women. On August 23, a Turkish drone targeted a
vehicle carrying journalists in the Said Sadiq district of Sulaymaniyah,
killing two women journalists, Gulistan Tara and Hero Bahadin.
Gulistan Tara and Hero Bahadin
The Turkish attacks cannot intimidate us; on the contrary, they
strengthen us. Women journalists in North and East Syria make great
efforts to report the truth."
'Conventions are not implemented'
The attacks on journalists in four parts of Kurdistan have
intensified for four years, stressed Lava Ibrahim, a reporter of the
Nefel Production. "In addition to the current war, a special war has
been being waged against journalists. In August 2023, a Turkish drone
targeted the vehicle of JIN TV in North and East Syria, killing a press
worker. In august 2024, a Turkish drone targeted two women journalists
in Sulaymaniyah. On July 23, 2024, journalist Pakhshan Azizi was
sentenced to death.
Pakhshan Azizi
In Turkiye, hundreds of journalists are behind bars. In Southern
Kurdistan, journalists have been prevented from reporting. Journalists
are targeted to prevent them from reporting the crimes committed by the
Turkish state." Speaking about conventions protecting journalists in war
zones, Lava Ibrahim said," Unfortunately, these conventions are not
implemented. The Women’s Press Union (YRJ) has carried out activities to
protect the rights of journalists in North and East Syria. As women
journalists in northeastern Syria, we are always in solidarity with each
other.
We are lucky to have the YRJ, protecting our rights. Despite
everything, we will keep reporting the truth." >>

<<Arrest of Kowsar Dehbanzadeh, Sister of Political Prisoner
Maysam Dehbanzadeh
Kowsar Dehbanzadeh, sister of political prisoner Maysam
Dehbanzadeh, was arrested by Intelligence officials in Shiraz, the
capital of Fars Province in southern Iran. Kowsar Dehbanzadeh had been
under pressure from security agents due to her advocacy and legal
pursuits for her brother. She was arrested by intelligence officers in
Shiraz without any legal documentation and was transferred to solitary
confinement at the Intelligence Detention Center (Cell 100) in Shiraz on
Friday, September 27, 2024. Kowsar Dehbanzadeh had previously been
summoned multiple times by Yasuj Intelligence, where she faced threats
for supporting her brother, Maysam Dehbanzadeh, who is currently
imprisoned in Ghezel Hesar Prison in Karaj. Intelligence agents have
threatened her family, warning them not to publicize her arrest. It
should be noted that Maysam Dehbanzadeh is currently serving his
sentence in Ghezel Hesar Prison and was recently sentenced to an
additional six and a half years on preliminary charges related to the
Evin Prison fire incident. Since the 2022 uprising, the clerical
regime's authorities have intensified their pressure and threats on the
families of political prisoners and victims' families, arresting many.
Under Article 16 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights,
detaining family members of political prisoners due to their relatives'
political activities or views violates this principle and is effectively
a form of punishment for acts they did not commit.>>

<<Death Row Prisoner Dies from Medical Neglect by Iranian
Authorities
Mahmoud Dahmardeh, a Baloch prisoner sentenced to death and held
in Zabol Prison, has died of a heart attack due to lack of medical care
and the prison authorities' refusal to transfer him to external medical
facilities. According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization
for Human Rights, on the evening of Thursday, October 3, 2024, Mahmoud
Dahmardeh, a 41-year-old prisoner sentenced to death from Zabol, and a
father of five, died after suffering a heart attack. His passing
occurred while he was held in Ward 1 of Taghzi Prison, where inadequate
medical care contributed to his deteriorating health. As reported by the
Haalvsh news outlet, this prisoner was transferred to Amir al-Mo'menin
Hospital in Zabol following the heart attack, and the news of his death
was conveyed to his family. He had been suffering from underlying
diabetes, and despite a noticeable dent in his left shoulder and
deteriorating health, as well as his family's repeated requests for
treatment and medical care outside the prison, the prison authorities
denied these requests. According to informed sources, the authorities
told the prisoner's family that, <He is a prisoner sentenced to death
and will eventually be executed, so what is the need for treatment?>
Last year, the authorities also opposed his release on a medical leave,
despite a hefty bail, for his treatment. This prisoner was arrested on
December 21, 2020, on charges of <premeditated murder> and was first
taken to the Zabol police detention center. After six months, he was
transferred to Taghzi Prison in Zabol, where he was subjected to
physical and psychological torture and was ultimately sentenced to death
by the Criminal Court in Zabol.>>

additional penalties. According to a report received by the Hengaw
Organization for Human Rights, Mohammadreza Faqihi, a lawyer, was
recently sentenced by Branch 15 of Tehran's Iranian Islamic

to the prison sentence, Mohammadreza Faqihi has also been subjected to
further penalties, including a two-year travel ban, a two-year
suspension from practicing law, and a ban on membership in political
parties and groups. Zahra Minouei, the lawyer representing Mohammadreza

Revolutionary Court to 5 years in prison for <gathering and conspiring
against national security,> as well as a two-year travel ban and a
two-year suspension from practicing law and political involvement. The
court hearing addressing the charges against this lawyer was held on
September 11, 2024. In October 2023, Faqihi was summoned to Branch 15 of
Tehran’s Revolutionary Court to defend himself against charges of
<gathering and conspiring and disturbing public order.> It is worth
noting that Mohammadreza Faqihi was arrested on October 12, 2023, along
with two other lawyers, during a protest by defense attorneys. The
protest was held outside the Central Bar Association in Argentina
Square, Tehran, to object to <violations of protesters' rights and

Zahra Fayzi
NCRI - Womens committee - 5 Oct 2024 - in Women's News
<<Zahra Fayzi, 41, executed in Tabriz Central Prison
On the morning of Wednesday, October 2, 2024, the execution
sentence for a woman named Zahra Fayzi was carried out in Tabriz Central
Prison.
Zahra Fayzi, aged 41 and a resident of Tabriz, was arrested four
years ago on charges of murdering her husband and was sentenced to qesas
(retribution in kind). The victim's family demanded 4.5 billion tomans
from Zahra's family to halt the execution, but her family was unable to
gather this amount. This sum far exceeds the official blood money rate
in Iran, which has been set by the judiciary at 1.2 billion tomans for
2024. The lack of a ceiling on blood money in Iran allows the victim's
family to request amounts significantly higher than the official rate,
often leading to the execution of those unable to afford such payments.
So far, no media outlet or official source inside Iran has
reported Zahra Feizi's execution.
21 Women Executed in 2024
According to statistics compiled by the Women's Committee of the
National Council of Resistance of Iran, with the execution of Zahra
Fayzi in Tabriz Central Prison, at least 250 women have been executed in
Iran since 2007.
The number of women executed in Iran since the beginning of 2024
has reached 21. Ten of these executions were carried out during Masoud
Pezeshkian's term. The total number of executions in Iran in 2024 has
reached 546, so far. The average number of women executed each year was
15, but this figure rose to 21 during Raisi's presidency. This year,
with still three months remaining in the year, the number of women
executed has reached 21.
Record Holder of Executions of Women
The Iranian regime is the world's top record holder of executions
of women.
No government in the world has executed so many women. The list
does not account for the tens of thousands of women executed in Iran on
political grounds. The NCRI Women's Committee previously mentioned that
many of the women executed by the mullahs’ regime are themselves victims
of domestic violence against women and have acted in self-defense.
An average of 15 women were executed every year under the former
government in Iran. However, 26 women were executed under Raisi
government in 2023, which is 11 more than the previous average.
The NCRI Women's Committee calls on the United Nations, the
European Union, and other relevant international organizations to take
urgent action to save the lives of those on death row and stop the use
of death penalty in Iran.>>

<<Iranian Appeals Court Reduces Kurdish Journalist and Activist
Zhina Modares Gorji's Prison Sentence to Two Years and Four Months
Zhina Modares Gorji, a prominent Kurdish women’s rights activist
and journalist from Sanandaj, who was arrested twice during the "Woman,
Life, Freedom" movement and sentenced to a total of 21 years in prison,
has had her sentence reduced to 2 years and 4 months by the Iranian
appeals court. According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization
for Human Rights, the Fourth Branch of the Iranian Appeals Court in
Sanandaj in Kurdistan Province recently sentenced Modares Gorji to 16
months in prison for <forming an illegal group with the intent to
overthrow the regime> and an additional year for <propaganda against the
regime.> Hengaw has learned that Modares Gorji was acquitted of the
charge of <collaboration with hostile groups and governments.> Moreover,
her exile to Hamedan Central Prison was revoked, and she will serve her
primary sentence of 16 months in the women's ward of Sanandaj Central
Prison. Previously sentenced to a total of 21 years, with 10 years to be
served, Modares Gorji had appealed the verdict issued by the Iranian
Islamic Revolutionary Court in Sanandaj. Her defense attorneys were
Saleh Nikbakht and Taher (Shuresh) Tohidi. Initially, the First Branch
of the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Court in Sanandaj presided over by
Judge Karami, had sentenced Modares Gorji to 10 years for <forming an
illegal group with the intent to overthrow the regime,> 10 years for
<collaboration with hostile groups and governments,> and 1 year for
<propaganda against the regime,> along with exile to Alvand Prison in
Hamedan. The last hearing on her charges was held on April 9, 2024, and
the final verdict was officially communicated to her on Thursday, May
23. Hengaw had previously reported that the charges against Zhina
Modares Gorji included <establishing the Zhivano Association with a
feminist ideology aimed at overthrowing the regime,> <purposeful
participation in protests and chanting anti-establishment slogans,>
<communication with anti-revolutionary elements,> <participation in
international conferences and workshops,> <publishing content on social
media, and giving interviews to foreign media to portray the country's
situation negatively and incite unrest after the death of Mahsa Amini.>
The Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Court has also referred the charge of
<spreading falsehoods and inciting people to violent acts> to the
Criminal Court, assigning Criminal Court 2 in Sanandaj to handle the
case. On Wednesday, May 8, 2024, after being held in solitary
confinement for a month at the Sanandaj Juvenile Detention Center,
Modares Gorji was transferred to the general ward. On Monday, April 9,
2024, she was abducted by Iranian government forces on her way home from
work by the intelligence officers. She was temporarily released on July
3 of the same year after 84 days in detention on a heavy bail of five
billion tomans.
Previously, on Thursday, September 22, 2022, she had been
arrested during the "Woman, Life, Freedom" movement by Iranian
intelligence forces in Sanandaj. After 40 days of detention in the
women's ward of Sanandaj Prison, she was temporarily released on
November 8, 2022, with a bail of 100 million tomans pending the
completion of her trial.>>

Fatemeh Moradpour
Hengaw Organisation for Human Right - Oct 5, 2024
<<Lorestan: Femicide/Suicide of Fatemeh Moradpour Due to Pressure
for Forced Marriage
A 15-year-old child resident of Romeshkan county in Lorestan
province, named Fatemeh Moradpour, committed suicide and ended her life
after being pressured by her family into a forced marriage and child
marriage. According to a report received by the Hengaw organization for
human rights, on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, Fatemeh Moradpour, a
15-year-old resident of Romeshkan county in Lorestan province, hanged
herself and lost her life following her family's insistence on marrying
her to a married man. According to a source close to the family, Fatemeh
was pressured by her family to marry a 40-year-old married man. After
repeatedly expressing her opposition to this marriage, she ultimately
ended her life.
According to the laws of the Islamic Republic, child marriage is
not only not a crime, but the Islamic Republic encourages families
towards child marriage in its ideological propaganda regarding the
institution of family. According to human rights standards, placing
children under 18 in emotional and sexual situations by adults is
considered a crime and in many cases sexual abuse of a child. In
countries where criminal laws are based on human rights criteria, it is
met with severe punishments.>>

Teenagers, Killed and Injured by Direct Gunfire
Hengaw Organisation for Human Right - Oct 5, 2024
<<Five Balochs, Including Three Teenagers, Killed and Injured by
Direct Gunfire from Iranian Military Forces
At least three Baloch teenagers, Amer Ramesh, Shahab Jadgal, and
Zakir Jadgal, were killed by direct gunfire from the military forces of
the Islamic Republic of Iran in the village of Bilengi, located in the
Pirsohrab district of Chabahar. Two others, Hamid Jadgal and Shoaib
Dartaj (Jadgal), were injured during the attack. According to a report
received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on the evening of
Wednesday, October 2, 2024, Amer Ramesh, Shahab Jadgal, and Zakir Jadgal,
all from Bilengi village, were shot and killed during a military
operation on a shop in the village, which involved the use of light and
semi-heavy weapons. Two others, Hamid Jadgal, 20, and Shoaib Dartaj (Jadgal),
25, were wounded in the attack. Reports from the Baloch Activists
Campaign and Haalvsh indicate that military forces were pursuing a
vehicle, and its passengers abandoned it in front of a shop in Bilengi.
The forces then opened fire on the shop, striking the five people
inside. Three of them were killed, and Hamid Jadgal and Shoaib Dartaj
were shot in the back, abdomen, and hand, sustaining serious injuries.
Iranian state media later claimed that the military forces were
targeting members of the 'Jaish al-Adl' group and had arrested several
individuals. It is worth noting that, over the past week, Jaish al-Adl
claimed responsibility for several attacks resulting in the deaths of
government forces.>>

represents, Mahrang Baloch is unsure if she'll live to see a day when
her community is no longer in turmoil. 'Maybe,' says the 31-year-old
doctor, who has been the target of harassment, arrests, and
assassination attempts," the magazine wrote. Over the past two decades,
a state crackdown on an insurgency in the country’s Baloch minority has
led to widespread forced disappearances and extrajudicial
killings, allegedly including Mahrang Baloch's father, an activist whose
body was recovered in 2011. "With many of the community's men missing or
dead, women like Mahrang are now at the helm advocating peacefully for
Baloch rights. Last December, she led hundreds of women in a long march
to the capital, Islamabad, demanding justice for their husbands, sons,
and brothers. The march brought unprecedented attention to the Baloch

<<Kurdish Political Activist Sirwan Fakhri, Arrested and Faces
Extradition from Turkey to Iran
Sirwan Fakhri, a Kurdish political activist from Saqqez, is
facing the serious risk of deportation and extradition from Turkey to
Iran after being arrested by Turkish security forces. He had previously
received an order to leave the country. According to a report received
by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on Thursday, October 3,
2024, 38-year-old Sirwan Fakhri from Saqqez was arrested by Turkish
police. Due to the deportation order issued against him by Turkish
authorities, Fakhri is now at serious risk of being sent back to Iran. A
reliable source told Hengaw that Sirwan Fakhri was arrested by police
near the city of Bitlis in Turkey. Recently, due to pressure from
security agencies and security agreements between Iran and the central
government of Iraq, Fakhri was forced to leave the city of Sulaymaniyah
in Iraqi Kurdistan and return to Turkey. It is worth mentioning that
Sirwan Fakhri had previously filed an asylum case in Turkey. After his
asylum request was rejected and a deportation order was issued, he was
compelled to relocate to Iraqi Kurdistan. In an audio message, Sirwan
Fakhri confirmed his arrest by Turkish police and called on human rights
organizations to be his voice, stating that if he is extradited to Iran,
he will face torture and harsh sentences.>>
