HAIL TO THE IRANIAN
WOMEN'S REVOLUTIONISTS FALLEN FOR FREDOM

the supreme leader, the arch-reactionary Ayatollah Ali Khomeini,

the women when the former president visited a university was plain: <give way or

Mahdis Hosseini
NCRI - Womens committee - 5 Nov 2024 - in The Fallen for Freedom
<<Mahdis Hosseini
A courageous soul extinguished in the pursuit of freedom
Mahdis Hosseini, born on June 30, 2006, was from Amol, a city in
northern Iran near the Caspian Sea. She was a spirited 16-year-old, full
of life and aspirations for a brighter future. On September 21 or 22,
2022, during a protest in Amol, she was shot in the leg by the Iranian
regime's security forces. She received basic treatment at a hospital and
then returned home, but the nightmare was only beginning. After she came
home, security agents began targeting her and her family with
intimidating calls and threatening messages. For nearly two weeks, they
were under relentless pressure, their lives overshadowed by fear.
Finally, on November 2, 2022, when her mother left for work, security
forces broke into their home and killed Mahdis Hosseini. Her mother
returned to find her daughter's body with foam around her mouth and
blood seeping from her ears-a horrific sight etched into her memory.
Following Mahdis's tragic death, the regime subjected her grieving
mother to further cruelty. Authorities forced her to record a statement
on camera, claiming that Mahdis had taken her own life by overdosing on
Tramadol pills as part of some <pill challenge.> They prohibited an
autopsy and withheld Mahdis's body from her family for four days,
insisting on this false narrative. Only after recording the coerced
testimony was her mother allowed to bury her daughter. Mahdis Hosseini
was a young woman whose love for freedom resonated with her community.
She had posted recitations in the Mazandarani dialect on her Instagram
page, sharing her voice and spirit with others. But in the end, those
same authorities silenced her voice permanently, murdering her in her
own home. Even after her death, they suppressed the truth, refusing any
examination that might expose what truly happened.
Her story is one of a life stolen too soon-a courageous soul
extinguished in the pursuit of freedom.>>

Nasim Sedghi
NCRI - Womens committee - 4 Nov 2024 - in The Fallen for Freedom
<<Nasim Sedghi
A Life Lost in Pursuit of Freedom
Nasim Sedghi was born on September 19, 1998, in the small city of Shahin
Dezh, located in West Azerbaijan Province in northwestern Iran. She was
a 23-year-old student at the University of Urmia, also in West
Azerbaijan. After completing her university studies, Nasim began
attending beauty classes in Urmia, showing her determination to shape a
future of her own making. On October 31, 2022, amid a wave of nationwide
protests, Nasim Sedghi joined a demonstration in Urmia. These protests,
which spread across every major city and town in Iran, called for basic
freedoms and justice and were marked by bravery and resilience against
the backdrop of intense government repression. While participating in
the protest, Nasim Sedghi was struck down by security forces, who shot
her in the forehead and chest, killing her instantly. Tragically,
Nasim's life was cut short for the simple reason that she yearned for
freedom. Following her death, security officers took her phone and even
her earrings, before forcibly seizing her body. Like in so many other
cases of protester killings, the Iranian regime pressured Nasim's family
to attribute her death to an <accident> rather than an act of state
violence. Nasim's burial took place on November 2, 2022, in her hometown
of Shahin Dezh. The regime imposed strict security measures during her
funeral, an attempt to prevent any gathering or expression of public
grief or outrage that could fuel further resistance.

Nasim Sedghi's story is a poignant reminder of the dreams and
aspirations that are routinely crushed by a regime that denies its
people the right to live freely. Her courage, her dedication to
self-betterment, and her yearning for freedom will not be forgotten.>>

From left, Roya Zakeri, Zeinab Khoniabpour, Maryam Arvin, Sara Tabrizi,
and Yalda Aghafazli
NCRI - November 4, 2024 - in Women's news
<<Systematic Human Rights Violations: Killing Political Prisoners
Through Forced Illness
Psychoactive Drug Administration
Reports also indicate that political prisoners are sometimes forced to
ingest suspicious drugs or receive psychoactive injections. Among the
possible victims of such crimes is Yalda Aghafazli, who tragically ended
her life under suspicious circumstances after her release. Fellow
prisoners suggest that some of these suicides or suspicious deaths
following release result from the effects of radioactive substances or
psychoactive drug injections during detention.
Dress Syndrome and Other Autoimmune Diseases
One of the autoimmune conditions reportedly induced by suspicious drugs
in Iran’s prisons is Drug Reaction with Eosinophilia and Systemic
Symptoms (DRESS) syndrome. This severe autoimmune disorder, triggered by
certain medications, causes intense inflammation and has emerged among
prisoners as a tool for debilitating and even killing those opposing the
Iranian regime.
Suspicious Deaths After Release
Aside from autoimmune diseases, there have been reports of suspicious
deaths following prisoners’ releases. One example is the tragic case of
attorney Maryam Arvin, who died under suspicious circumstances shortly
after her release. Her mother disclosed that prison authorities
administered an IV under the pretext of a sedative, and her death was
later attributed to drug poisoning. Similarly, former political prisoner
Sara Tabrizi died under suspicious circumstances, which the medical
examiner attributed to <pill ingestion.> Only weeks before her death,
this 20-year-old woman had endured extreme psychological pressure from
security agents.
Urgent International Response Needed
Iran's clerical regime employs ruthless measures, including enforced
suicides, induced illnesses, and assassinations, to weaken and eliminate
political dissidents. Political prisoners are among the most vulnerable
victims of these brutal practices. The international community must act
swiftly to condemn and further isolate this illegitimate regime,
recognizing the Iranian people's struggle for freedom and supporting
political prisoners and protesters alike.>>

Elaheh Saeedi
NCRI - Womens committee - 1 Nov 2024 - in The Fallen for Freedom
<<Elaheh Saeedi
A Young Life Ended Amid Nationwide Protests
Elaheh Saeedi was a young woman whose life was tragically ended amid the
2022 nationwide uprising. On October 10, 2022, during these protests,
Elaheh became a target of brutal repression, struck by gunfire from the
regime's security forces. The following day, on October 11, 2022, Elaheh
Saeedi was laid to rest in the Aychi Cemetery in Saqqez, a city in
Iran's Kurdistan province in the west of the country.
Her untimely death highlights the price paid by those who have
courageously stood up to the oppressive forces of Iran, hoping to bring
about a future of justice and freedom.>>

Sarina Shiri
NCRI - Womens committee - 31 Oct 2024 - in The Fallen for Freedom
<<Sarina Shiri
A Leader of the Student Movement
Sarina Shiri, a 19 year old young woman from Javanrud in western Iran,
was a high school student at Nasim High School in Kermanshah, also in
the western part of the country. Sarina Shiri was known as an active and
passionate advocate for her peers, playing a central role in organizing
student protests in her hometown. Her dedication to freedom and justice
placed her on the frontlines of Iran's student movement, inspiring many
around her.
Each day, after school, Sarina would take to the streets with her
friends, courageously joining the protests, chanting for justice, and
boldly voicing the call for <Death to Khamenei.> On October 1, 2022,
Sarina's life was abruptly and cruelly cut short. Agents from the
Ministry of Intelligence apprehended her, subjecting her to brutal
torture that ultimately claimed her life. In the heavily surveilled
environment that surrounded her family, Sarina was quietly laid to rest
in Sarpol-e Zahab, a town in western Iran. Only her immediate family
attended her funeral, forced into silence by the state’s oppressive
grip.>>
