Nobel Peace Prize winner Narges Mohammadi chanted the "Jin, Jiyan, Azadi"
slogan when she was temporarily released from Evin prison on Wednesday

News Center- Nobel Peace Prize winner Narges Mohammadi, a human rights

popular uprising that sparked in Iran and Rojhilat Kurdistan in 2022,
following the killing of Jina Mahsa Amini by Iran's so-called <morality

<<Protesting Death Sentences for Six PMOI Political Prisoners-Statement
by Political Prisoners in Evin
A group of political prisoners in Tehran's Evin Prison issued a
statement, condemning the issuance of death sentences for six political
prisoners accused of membership in the People's Mojahedin Organization
of Iran (PMOI/MEK). Several women political prisoners from the women's
ward of Evin are also among the signatories of this statement published
on December 4, 2024.
Excerpts from the statement are as follows:
The 2022 uprising, as a pivotal chapter in the Iranian people's struggle
for freedom, has shaken the regime's foundations to such an extent that
it sees no option but to intensify its repression in various forms. The
alarming surge in death sentences for political prisoners over the past
two years not only echoes the state's brutal crackdowns of the 1980s but
also reveals the ruling elite's deep fear of a determined and
justice-seeking society on the rise.
Six PMOI political prisoners, from left, Akbar (Shahrokh) Daneshvar-kar,
Mohammad Taghavi, Babak Alipour, Pouya Ghobadi, Vahid Bani Amerian and
Abolhassan Montazer
The collective death sentence for six political prisoners-Abolhassan
Montazer, Pouya Ghobadi, Vahid Bani Amerian, Babak Alipour, Mohammad
Taghavi, and Akbar (Shahrokh) Daneshvar-kar-comes in the wake of death
sentences issued for young Iranian protesters detained during the 2022
uprising, in a case called, "Ekbatan."
Varisha Moradi and Pakhshan Azizi
Additionally, since the beginning of 2024, several other political
prisoners, including Pakhshan Azizi, Varisha Moradi, Shahriar Bayat,
Behrouz Ehsani, Mehdi Hassani, and Mohammad Javad Vafaei Sani, have
faced death sentences and remain in prison under threat of execution.
We, the undersigned political prisoners of Evin Prison, categorically
oppose the death penalty and express our unwavering support for all
political and ideological prisoners facing this brutal punishment. We
firmly believe that the fight for freedom requires collective solidarity
to uphold human rights and build social resistance against the death
verdicts. We call on all Iranians from every social stratum to join
political prisoners in protesting these inhumane and reactionary
sentences by all possible means. The time to stand together in the
streets against executions is now. It is time to save the lives of
political prisoners-it is time to say, 'No to executions.'"

<<Execution of a Woman, Farkhondeh Allah Moradi, 50, in Isfahan Central
Prison
According to reports, a female prisoner named Farkhondeh Allah Moradi,
50, was executed at dawn on Saturday, December 1, 2024, in Isfahan
Central Prison (Dastgerd). Farkhondeh Allah Moradi had been arrested
five years ago on charges of murder and subsequently sentenced to death.
As of now, no official government or judicial media outlets have
reported her execution. On Tuesday, December 3, 2024, two women were
hanged in Ilam Prison. The two victims have been identified as Farideh
Jafarzadeh, a resident of Ilam, and Aliyeh Kavarizadeh, 60, from
Dehloran. Aliyeh Kavarizadeh had been sentenced to death on charges of
killing her husband.
31 women executed in 2024
The Iranian regime is the world's top record holder of executions of
women.
According to the data recorded by the NCRI Women's Committee, at least
260 women have been executed in Iran since 2007.
The number of women executed in Iran has sharply increased over the past
year, with 33 executions of women recorded between October 2023 and
October 2024. This marks a troubling rise from previous years, up from
19 women executed in 2022-2023 and 21 in 2021-2022. The current year's
figure is particularly alarming, surpassing the average rate of 21
executions under Ebrahim Raisi by 12 and more than double the annual
average of 15 under former president Hassan Rouhani. Given the
clandestine nature of executions and the lack of public announcement by
the judiciary, it is evident that the actual number is higher than
reported. This surge underscores the Iranian regime's growing use of
capital punishment, including against women-an escalation in human
rights abuses now seen under the administration of Masoud Pezeshkian.
The total number of executions in Iran in 2024 has reached 859, so far,
with more than 560 prisoners including 20 women executed since
Pezeshkian took office. It further proves that regardless of who holds
the presidency, the rights of the Iranian people, especially women,
continue to be trampled.>>

Tuesdays Against Executions
On Tuesday, December 3, 2024, the 45th week of the "Tuesdays Against
Executions" campaign was marked by hunger strikes in 25 prisons across
Iran. Prisoners staged this protest against the regime's mass
executions, particularly the recent death sentences issued for six
political prisoners affiliated with the People's Mojahedin Organization
of Iran (PMOI/MEK) and a protester detained during the 2022 uprising.
Since the beginning of 2024, the clerical regime has executed over 850
prisoners. According to Amnesty International, 74% of all executions
worldwide in 2023 were carried out by the Iranian regime.

<<Iranian Prisoners Hunger Strike Hits 45th Week with Widespread Support
The "No Execution Tuesdays" campaign, a prisoner-led initiative against
capital punishment in Iran, has entered its 45th consecutive week. On
Tuesday, prisoners in at least 25 prisons participated in the hunger
strike, which has been ongoing for 45 weeks. The campaign has gained
momentum, with 68 Iranian and international human rights organizations
endorsing it over the past few weeks. Reports indicate that over 28
people, including two juvenile offenders, were executed in Iranian
prisons over the past week.
The total number of executions has reached 743 since March.
Prisoners in 25 facilities have joined hunger strikes in protest,
including Evin, Ghezelhesar, Rasht, Shiraz, Tabriz, and Urmia. The
campaign condemns the death sentences and urges human rights
organizations to take urgent action to protect prisoners' lives. It
describes the government's execution practices as a "tool of repression
and intimidation" and calls for public support. The weekly hunger
strike, which began in February, comprises prisoners from various

Three prominent Iranian cultural institutions have criticized the <Hijab

peace.
The Iranian House of Cinema, House of Theater, and House of Music issued
a joint statement on Wednesday condemning the law as <anti-national and
divisive.> "We find it necessary to express our serious concern
regarding the so-called <Hijab and Chastity> law," the statement reads.
"The anti-national and divisive nature of this law, whose authors,
disregarding the principles of wisdom, rationality, and the need for
social acceptance, have expanded criminalization to encompass over half
of the population." The cultural bodies called on "intellectuals, legal
experts, sociologists, and all the dedicated people of this great nation
to use reason, logic, and goodwill to prevent the enforcement of this
harmful and divisive law." The law, which has undergone several
revisions between Parliament and the Guardian Council, includes 74

Hossein Firouzi and Hiva Feyzi, two Kurdish men from Saqqez, were

Mahvash Sabet
Iranwire - 4 Dec 2024
<<Jailed Baha'i Mahvash Sabet 'Life at Risk' from Medical Issues,
Daughter Says
Mahvash Sabet, a 73-year-old Baha'i prisoner, has been transferred to
Rajaei Hospital in Tehran due to worsening health. Her daughter Negar
Sabet has warned that Sabet's life is at risk. Sabet is currently
awaiting further medical tests as her condition continues to cause
concern. "My mother was transferred to Rajaei Hospital and has been
hospitalized for the past three days," said Negar Sabet, explaining that
Sabet is suffering from cardiac health issues. "She has been waiting for
an angiography at the hospital and after that, it will be determined
what kind of surgery her heart needs," she added. Sabet also developed a
lung condition during her previous imprisonment. She served a ten-year
sentence from 2008 to 2017 on charges of being a member of an informal
group of Iranian Baha’is who oversaw the basic needs of the country's
Baha'i community. After her release, she was arrested again in 2022, and
is now serving a second 10-year jail sentence. Her illness worsened
after she contracted covid during an interrogation and she inhaled smoke
from a fire at Evin Prison. "After enduring 13 years of unjust
imprisonment, it is now time for my mother to be immediately and
unconditionally released to receive proper medical care," her daughter
told Iran International. "Her health has reached a critical state, and
her life is now in danger." Sabet was arrested on July 31, 2022. The
preliminary court sentenced her to 10 years in prison on charges of
leading an <illegal group with the intention of disrupting national
security." In 2017, Sabet was recognized as an International Writer of
Courage by PEN International, the literary freedom of expression group.
She has also received a prestigious literary award in Norway and was
made an honorary member of PEN in Austria and Denmark. On Wednesday,
Narges Mohammadi, a prominent human rights activist and Nobel Peace
Prize laureate who had repeatedly been denied access to medical centers
for health checks, was temporarily released for treatment. The Tehran
prosecutor's office suspended her sentence based on a forensic medical
opinion following her recent surgery to remove a tumor and undergo a

<<Horror in Yasuj: Girl Kidnapped, Abused, and Raped
Iranian media reported on Sunday that several university students in
Yasuj had kidnapped a female classmate, physically and sexually
assaulted her, injured her with a knife, and then shared videos of the
attack on social media. Reports indicated the crime followed a verbal
altercation between the girl and her classmates in a university group on
a messaging app. She reportedly took her own life afterward. However,
IranWire has obtained information indicating that parts of the published
reports about the girl who was raped in Yasuj are inaccurate. The girl
is alive but deeply traumatized. The widely circulated image purported
to be of the victim is also fake. To protect her privacy, IranWire chose
not to publish her photo.
The incident began when Asma Ghazanfari, a young woman from Yasuj, had
an argument with a male classmate from the same city on the Rubika
messaging app. According to women's rights activist Pardis Rabiei, the
content of the argument remains unclear. "No one knows the content of
the messages exchanged in the group, how the argument started, or why it
escalated to sexual insults directed at the recently deceased mother of
the boy who initiated this highly violent and inhumane act," she said.
"However, after the incident, Asma, influenced by what had transpired,
made an inappropriate move by posting a photo of the boy's recently
deceased mother on Instagram, accompanied by vulgar, offensive, and
gendered insults. Though nothing can justify what was done to her."
Following Asma's post, the boy schemed an attack. He convinced her to
meet him by speaking gently and earning her trust. Rabiei explained, "He
lured her to a location where he and a group of friends and relatives
abused and assaulted her."
A video of the assault circulated on social media, with reports claiming
as many as 12 people, including minors, were involved. Rabiei revealed
that in addition to the video, a four-minute voice recording exists
where Asma's name is repeatedly mentioned while she is insulted. "The
video clearly shows several men abducting, raping, and threatening her.
Asma pleads for mercy and expresses regret, but her attackers ignore her
pleas and continue raping her, despite her deteriorating condition,"
Rabiei said.
The perpetrators shared the footage online without fear.
Authorities responded by releasing a video announcing the arrest of
those involved. Mehr news agency quoted police in Kohgiluyeh and
Boyer-Ahmad province, saying, "In a swift operation, all individuals
involved in the assault on the Yasuj girl were detained and referred to
the judiciary after case proceedings." Pardis Rabiei said, "Initially,
it was reported that the girl had committed suicide and died. However,
sources close to her indicate Asma Ghazanfari is alive and hospitalized
due to the severity of her injuries. She even said that she would
withdraw her complaint, which shows how terrified she is." The
prosecutor of Yasuj also denied the suicide claim, saying she is in good
health and under her family's care. So far, Asma Ghazanfari's family has
not commented. However, a concerning issue is that some acquaintances
have defended the aggressors on social media, calling their actions a
display of <honor> and <family protection.> Concurrently with the
violent crime in Yasuj, reports emerged of a 15-year-old girl being
physically abused in Behshahr. It is alleged that the girl's uncle, as
punishment, cut off both her ears and posted pictures of it on social
media.
In a patriarchal culture, numerous phrases promote violence, often
directed at women who refuse to conform to imposed norms. Regarding the
violent uncle of the teenage girl from Behshahr, whose name and identity
remain unreported, the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of the Vice
office claims to have taken actions to protect her rights and that the
police have arrested her uncle.>>

<<Iranian Cleric Criticizes New Hijab Law
A seminary teacher in Iran has warned that the new Hijab and Chastity
Law may lead young Iranians to reject religious teachings. Mustafa
Mohaghegh Damad wrote in a letter that the law passed by Parliament is
unimplementable and against the public interest. "Recently, a law titled
The Family Support Law through Promoting the Culture of Chastity and
Hijab was passed in Parliament, which, according to my information, the
executive branch is not prepared to implement and considers
unimplementable and against the public interest," he stated. The cleric
added, "Senior officials have consistently emphasized in meetings with
state authorities that the issue of hijab should be addressed
culturally, not through beating citizens. However, the approval of this
law contradicts the views and advice of religious authorities." While
Mohaghegh Damad declared the law contrary to the views of religious
authorities, no Shia religious leaders have publicly opposed it. They
have only called for <cultural> efforts alongside legal measures. He
warned that the law could potentially backfire, driving young Iranians
to emigrate. The law, which passed after several revisions between
Parliament and the Guardian Council, includes 74 articles and will be
officially communicated to enforcement agencies on December 13. It
introduces severe financial penalties and extensive social restrictions
for women who refuse to comply with mandatory hijab regulations.>>

Elaheh and Mahsa
Iranwire - November 29, 2024 - by Parisa Pourtaherian
<<Dream Farmers of Gilan's Forests: Redefining Success
Gilan's forests are more than just woodlands.
In the lush, breathing heart of the ancient trees, where every leaf
tells a story, and every shadow holds a secret, Elaheh and Mahsa found
their life's purpose. With their endless shades of green and morning
mists weaving through ancient trees, these forests became more than a
mere landscape.
They are living memories, breathing ecosystems that have witnessed
generations of human stories. Here, where the Caspian forests embrace
the mountains with their dense, velvet touch, the sisters discovered a
language older than words: the silent dialogue between the human spirit
and nature. For many, "happiness" is simply one aspect of life, but this
feeling has become their life’s goal for these two farmer sisters. The
sisters chose to leave behind urban life and dedicate themselves to
preserving their family's farmland in Rezvanshahr. They established
their own farm, believing the shift had brought them a happier, more
peaceful way of life. Mahsa, a PhD student in environmental studies, is
deeply concerned with ecological issues. Elaheh, studying psychology,
expresses her passion for photography through the online content she
creates. Their Instagram page, filled with stunning imagery and artistic
compositions reflecting their geographic location and Elaheh's
photographic skills, has gained a wide following. The sisters often
share their dreams, such as opening an art gallery at the heart of their
farm or setting up a stand to sell a variety of bread and cheese,
inviting their followers to join them on this journey. They encourage
their audience to dream big, visualize their goals, and share ideas
while taking practical steps toward achieving them. They inspire
followers who admire their lifestyle and dedication. On their Instagram
and YouTube accounts, the sisters not only showcase the beauty and
tranquility of farm life but also discuss the challenges and hardships
that come with it. From battling pests without using pesticides due to
their commitment to organic farming to the physical demands of
agricultural work and the struggle to balance it with their studies,
they share their experiences honestly with their audience. Elaheh and
Mahsa outline the dos and don’ts of starting this journey and share
their own experiences as a guide to help followers make informed
decisions. Their love for gardening, caring for plants and animals, and
connecting with nature, coupled with a passion for exploring fresh
flavors, are central themes in many of their posts. After some time on
the farm, they decided to market their organic products under their
brand, "Mishin." As entrepreneurial women, the sisters have expanded
their business, delivering farm-fresh products like peanut butter, sweet
potatoes, and ginger directly to customers and selling them in person.>>
