{Extreme cold kills another infant in Gaza as Israel blocks vital aid
Israel continues to block vital necessities, such as mobile homes, as
the Palestinian enclave is hit by harsh weather conditions. A
seven-day-old infant has died due to the extreme cold in the Gaza Strip
as the Israeli blockade of vital necessities worsens the humanitarian
crisis in the Palestinian enclave. Medical sources told Al Jazeera on
Saturday that Mahmoud Al-Aqraa died in Deir el-Balah in central Gaza
amid rapidly decreasing temperatures. Palestinians living in makeshift
tents have little protection from the strong wind and rain, as most
shelters are made of thin canvas and plastic sheeting. Israel continues
to limit the number of tents and sustainable shelters entering Gaza, in
violation of the ceasefire it agreed with Hamas in October. It has also
blocked other vital necessities, such as mobile homes, as well as tools
and materials to fix the damaged tents. Temperatures at night in Gaza
have been falling to as low as nine degrees Celsius (48 degrees
Fahrenheit) in recent days. In a statement, Gaza’s Civil Defence said on
Friday that “every low-pressure system turns into a humanitarian
disaster in light of the prevention of the entry of building materials
and the disruption of reconstruction.” The organisation warned of a
“catastrophe” due to the “low-pressure system that caused serious damage
to temporary shelters, and thousands of tents were completely damaged”.
The Civil Defence urged citizens to secure their tents to prevent them
from being blown away, given that mobile homes are not allowed to enter.
“What is happening is not a weather crisis, but a direct result of
preventing the entry of building materials and disrupting
reconstruction, as people are living in torn tents and cracked houses
without safety or dignity,” Civil Defence spokesman Mahmoud Basal said.
He also said Palestinians were forced to set up their tents on the beach
due to the lack of available space inside the cities as a result of the
extensive Israeli destruction of them. Al Jazeera’s Hind Khoudary,
reporting from Gaza City, said many tents she visited have been
destroyed. “There is no way to fix these tents, because the families do
not have the materials to do that,” she said, adding that people whose
tents are destroyed are forced to look for somewhere else to stay, and
move to become displaced over and over again. The meteorological
authority in Gaza has warned that strong winds are expected to continue,
and a further drop in temperatures is expected in the enclave. In a
statement to the AFP news agency last week, Amjad Shawa, director of the
Palestinian NGO Network in Gaza, said about 1.5 million of Gaza’s 2.2
million residents have lost their homes in the war. Of more than 300,000
tents requested to shelter displaced people, “we have received only
60,000,” Shawa said, pointing to Israeli restrictions on the delivery of
humanitarian aid. In a separate development, an Israeli quadcopter
killed a Palestinian man who was being transferred to a hospital in Khan
Younis in southern Gaza, medical sources told Al Jazeera on Saturday.

Israel during its genocidal two-year war, according to the United

Seven-Day-Old Baby Dies of Cold
Quds news - Jan 10, 2026
{Seven-Day-Old Baby Dies of Cold in Gaza as Israel’s Blockade and Winter
Storm Deepen Displacement Crisis
A seven-day-old baby has died from extreme cold in central Gaza as
Israel’s blockade and a powerful winter storm leave displaced families
trapped in torn tents, with officials warning that the crisis is turning
every storm into a humanitarian disaster.
Gaza (QNN)- A seven-day-old baby died from extreme cold in Deir al-Balah
in central Gaza, as Israel's ongoing blockade and a new winter storm
worsened the suffering of displaced families living in tents, raising
fears of a humanitarian catastrophe. Hospitals in Gaza said the infant,
Mahmoud Al-Aqra, arrived at Shuhada' Al-Aqsa Hospital in critical
condition. Doctors later confirmed his death after severe exposure to
cold, amid a lack of proper heating and basic shelter.
Official data shows that at least four children have died from
cold-related causes inside displacement tents, as Gaza continues to face
harsh humanitarian conditions and widespread shelter shortages. Gaza’s
Civil Defense warned that every winter storm now turns into a
humanitarian disaster due to the Israeli ban on the entry of
construction materials and the obstruction of reconstruction efforts. It
said the latest low-pressure system caused severe damage to temporary
shelters, with thousands of tents either fully destroyed or badly
damaged. The Civil Defense urged displaced families to secure their
tents to prevent them from being blown away by strong winds, especially
as authorities still block the entry of mobile homes and proper housing
units. Civil Defense spokesperson Mahmoud Basal said the situation is
not a weather crisis but a direct result of preventing building
materials and halting reconstruction. He added that people now live in
torn tents and cracked homes without safety or dignity. Basal also said
many Palestinians were forced to set up tents along the coastline
because Israeli destruction left no available space inside cities. He
stressed that conditions in Gaza fall far below minimum humanitarian
standards and amount to a grave violation of humanitarian principles and
international humanitarian law. Hundreds of tents were damaged by strong
winds, as the Meteorological Department warned that harsh weather
conditions will continue, with dropping temperatures and persistent
gusts. Israeli airstrikes on the outskirts of the Beach Camp, northwest
of Gaza City, also damaged displacement tents and destroyed their
contents, forcing families to spend the night outdoors. The new storm
began on Friday, bringing heavy rain and strong winds across the Gaza
Strip. On Saturday, the Palestinian Meteorological Department said
scattered rainfall remains possible in several areas, while wind speeds
may reach up to 60 kilometers per hour. Since the ceasefire agreement
took effect on October 10, Israel has failed to meet its commitments
under the deal, including allowing the entry of tents, mobile homes,
construction materials, and supplies needed to repair water and sewage
networks, according to official data. During the previous storm at the
end of December, hundreds of tents housing displaced families along the
coast of Khan Younis in southern Gaza were flooded after sea waves
surged inland. Since December, repeated winter storms have also caused
dozens of previously damaged residential buildings to collapse, leading
to additional casualties. These weather systems have further deepened
Gaza’s humanitarian crisis, which has seen no real improvement despite
the end of the war, due to Israel’s failure to honor the ceasefire
commitments. The agreement ended a war of genocide launched by Israel on
October 8, 2023, which lasted two years and killed more than 71,000
Palestinians, injured over 171,000 others, and destroyed around 90
percent of Gaza’s civilian infrastructure. The United Nations estimates
reconstruction costs at nearly $70 billion.} Video - Source: https://qudsnen.co/post?id=67031&slug=seven-day-old-baby-dies-of-cold-in-gaza-as-israels-blockade-and-winter-storm-deepen-displacement-crisis

{US Judge Dismisses Lawsuit Seeking Emergency Evacuation of Palestinian
Americans Trapped in Gaza
A US federal judge dismissed a lawsuit by Palestinian Americans seeking
emergency evacuation from Gaza, ruling that rescue and foreign policy
decisions fall outside the court’s authority despite the severe
humanitarian conditions.
Chicago (QNN)- A US federal judge has dismissed a lawsuit that sought to
force the US government to carry out emergency rescues of Palestinian
Americans and their families trapped in Gaza during the US-Israeli
genocide, reported Reuters. Chief Judge Virginia Kendall of the US
District Court in Chicago issued the ruling on Thursday. She said the
court lacks the authority to decide matters tied to foreign policy and
evacuations, which fall under the Executive Branch. The case was brought
by nine Palestinian Americans who are US citizens or lawful permanent
residents. They sued the government in December 2024, arguing it
violated their constitutional right to equal protection by failing to
evacuate them as it would do for other Americans. The plaintiffs said
they faced extreme conditions in Gaza, including destroyed homes, food
shortages, lack of medical care, and severe psychological distress. They
argued these hardships created a mandatory duty for the US government to
evacuate them from Gaza. Judge Kendall said she sympathized with the
plaintiffs and described their situation as impossible. However, she
said the court lacked both jurisdiction and practical tools to resolve
such claims. In her ruling, Kendall said she could not assess how an
evacuation should be coordinated with neighboring countries. She also
cited the alleged dangers of moving people through what she referred to
as active combat zones and the challenge of determining who qualifies
for evacuation. She noted that the United States has no diplomatic
presence in Gaza, which, according to her, further complicates any
rescue effort. Kendall said answering these questions from the courtroom
would intrude on powers assigned by the Constitution to political
branches. The judge also claimed that available evidence showed the US
government had developed an evacuation plan. She added that the nine
plaintiffs had either already left Gaza or declined evacuation offers
that excluded extended family members. The lawsuit originally named
former US President Joe Biden, former Secretary of State Antony Blinken,
and former Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin. It continues against their
successors, President Donald Trump, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth. The US State Department did not respond
to requests for comment. The ruling comes amid Israel’s ongoing genocide
in Gaza. Israel has murdered more than 71,000 Palestinians since it
launched its offensive over two years ago.} Video - Source: https://qudsnen.co/post?id=67030&slug=us-judge-dismisses-lawsuit-seeking-emergency-evacuation-of-palestinian-americans-trapped-in-gaza

{Haaretz: Settlers Use an Army of Israeli Minors to Harass and Expel
Native Palestinians from Their Villages
An investigation by Haaretz reveals how Israeli settlers deploy groups
of armed “child soldiers” to systematically harass Palestinian
communities, exhaust residents through daily violence, and force
families to flee their villages, while authorities never intervene.
Occupied West Bank (QNN)- Israeli minors are playing a growing role in
attacks on Palestinian communities across the occupied West Bank,
according to a report by Israeli Haaretz. The incidents form part of a
broader pattern of forced displacement that has uprooted dozens of
native Palestinians in recent years. The report reveals that Israelis
send children, some as young as 12, regularly from illegal settlement
outposts to harass Bedouin and rural Palestinian communities. They
arrive on foot, on tractors, or riding ATVs. They herd flocks into
Palestinian residential areas, vandalize property, threaten residents,
and damage water infrastructure that communities rely on for survival.
The violence follows a clear and repeated pattern. Minors enter
communities day and night. They empty water tanks, uproot pipes, destroy
solar panels, break fences, and intimidate residents, including women
and elderly people. In many cases, they carry clubs, knives, or other
weapons. Some incidents include physical assaults on Palestinians and
Israeli activists who document the attacks. The report reveals that
these acts are not random. It describes a division of labor between
minors and adults. Children exhaust communities through constant
harassment over weeks or months. Armed adults then arrive to deliver
more violent attacks, forcing residents to flee. Several activists
describe the minors as “child soldiers” used to carry out a long-term
strategy of displacement. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who
is wanted by the ICC over war crimes in Gaza, recently described settler
violence as the work of “a handful of children.” He claimed the youths
come from “broken homes” and number around 70. Human rights groups say
this claim is misleading and contradicted by extensive evidence. Data
from Israeli organizations Kerem Navot and B’Tselem shows that more than
70 Palestinian herding communities were forcibly displaced between 2022
and November 2025. The United Nations Office for the Coordination of
Humanitarian Affairs reports that around 700 native families, totaling
nearly 3,900 people, were uprooted during this period. At the same time,
settlement farming outposts expanded their control over an estimated
700,000 to 800,000 dunams of land. These areas were traditionally used
by Palestinians for grazing and agriculture. Access to the land has now
been almost entirely blocked. As of November, there were 360 settlement
outposts in the West Bank. About 140 were established since the start of
the genocide. Most are individual farming outposts that rely heavily on
Israeli minors to maintain daily attacks and territorial control.
Despite years of warnings, Israeli authorities have never intervened.
Activists say welfare authorities rarely intervene, even when children
appear neglected, ill, or physically endangered.} Video - Source: https://qudsnen.co/post?id=67033&slug=haaretz-settlers-use-an-army-of-israeli-minors-to-harass-and-expel-native-palestinians-from-their-villages

{Bot Networks Promoting Netanyahu and Israel on Social Media, Israeli
Report
An Israeli TV investigation says automated bot networks flood social
media with likes and shares to amplify posts by Israel’s Prime Minister
Benjamin Netanyahu and his allies, shaping online discourse and
silencing critics.
Occupied Palestine (QNN)- An investigation by Israel’s Channel 12 News
has found that about half of the politically active accounts on Israeli
social media are not real people but automated bots. The report said
many of these bots actively promote posts by Prime Minister Benjamin
Netanyahu, who is wanted by the ICC over war crimes in Gaza, and members
of his coalition. The investigation, aired Friday night, found that bots
rush to like and share posts almost immediately after publication. This
early activity pushes content into social media algorithms and helps it
reach wider audiences. The investigation found another clear sign of
manipulation. While comments on such posts often appeared negative,
shared versions skewed heavily positive, which experts said points to
bot amplification. In some cases, the report said, human influencers
post first to trigger the algorithm. Bots then reinforce and spread the
content at scale. The report warned that bots also play a major role in
spreading libel. The report estimated that around half of Israel’s
politically active accounts are bots, a level similar to global trends.
Some bots are simple and easy to identify, while others use advanced
artificial intelligence and closely mimic real users. Experts said some
bots mainly collect data rather than shape public opinion. Others focus
directly on manipulating online discourse.} Video - Source: https://qudsnen.co/post?id=67029&slug=bot-networks-promoting-netanyahu-and-israel-on-social-media-israeli-report

{UK Medical Tribunal Dismisses Complaint by Israeli Group Against
Palestinian British Doctor Ghassan Abu Sitta
The UK medical tribunal rejected all accusations against Palestinian
British doctor Ghassan Abu Sitta after a pro-Israel legal group accused
him of terrorism, violence, and antisemitism over his Gaza genocide
testimonies.
London (QNN)- The UK General Medical Council (GMC) Tribunal has
dismissed a complaint filed by a zionist group against Palestinian
British doctor Ghassan Abu Sitta. The complaint came from the pro-Israel
group UK Lawyers for Israel. It accused Abu Sitta of supporting
terrorism, supporting violence, and antisemitism. The tribunal rejected
all accusations. In an interview with Quds News Network, Dr. Abu Sitta
said the case relied on his medical testimonies from Gaza and statements
by others. He provided these testimonies while working as a doctor
during Israel’s genocide in Gaza. Abu Sitta said the zionist group filed
ten complaints against him across several institutions. These included
four attempts to pressure the University of Glasgow to withdraw his
nomination as university rector. Other complaints targeted the Scottish
government’s education department, the UK Charity Commission, and the
GMC twice. Abu Sitta said the group's goal was not to win cases. He said
the goal was financial and psychological exhaustion. He described it as
an effort to silence critics of Israel and create a climate of fear. He
said the case lasted six months, adding that his legal team had to
launch a fundraising campaign to cover legal costs. The pro-Israeli
group published articles from the first day of the hearing. Abu Sitta
said they falsely claimed victory and alleged the GMC accused him of
terrorism and antisemitism. "Such campaigns aim to justify the killing
of more than 1,700 Palestinian medical workers in Gaza", Abu Sitta
stated. “We defend the right to speak,” Abu Sitta added, urging people
not to stay silent about Gaza. “This battle depends on people continuing
to speak,” he added. Ghassan Abu Sitta is a Palestinian British surgeon
and associate professor of plastic and reconstructive surgery. He is the
first Arab doctor to develop a specialized academic curriculum on
conflict and war medicine. He has volunteered as a surgeon in Syria,
Iraq, Yemen, and Gaza. He survived the Israeli attack on Al-Ahli Baptist
Hospital in Gaza. Abu Sitta has given several medical testimonies from
Gaza. His latest testimony, aired on Al Jazeera, documented evidence of
Israeli organ theft from Palestinian victims.} Video - Source: https://qudsnen.co/post?id=67028&slug=uk-medical-tribunal-dismisses-complaint-by-israeli-group-against-palestinian-british-doctor-ghassan-abu-sitta

(QNN)- An Israeli-owned restaurant in Lisbon announced on Tuesday that
it will close following a pro-Palestine campaign amid the genocide in
Gaza as the restaurant was serving stolen Palestinian dishes and named
after the Tantura massacre. In a post on Facebook, the owners of Tantura
said that they will close its doors with "the war and the alarming rise
in antisemitism in the world" over the past two years, Israel's Channel
12 on Thursday said. Over the past two years, since October 2023, Israel
committed genocide against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, killing over
71,000 Palestinians, destroying more than 80% of the structures, wiping
out entire neighborhoods and using starvation as a weapon of war. A
“Free Palestine” graffiti appeared on the restaurant wall, which the
Israeli restaurant’s owners claimed to be antisemitic. The restaurant
was founded in 2017, serving hummus, sambusak and shakshuka, well-known
Arab and Palestinian dishes, in Lisbon's main entertainment
district. Its name, Tantura, referred to the Palestinian village
of Tantura, the site of a massacre of Palestinians which took place in
1948 along with multiple massacres in Palestinian villages by Zionist
gangs in a bid to forcefully expel at least 750,000 Palestinians from
their homes and land, a tragedy Palestinians refer to as the Nakba, or
catastrophe. In 2022, Israeli daily Haaretz confirmed the discovery of a
mass grave in Tantura village. The owners of the restaurant said The
name Tantura was inspired by the beach where they met and later married.
The Haaretz probe said the graves of at least 200 Palestinians buried
after their execution were located under the Dor Beach parking lot.}

Israel Breaching Ceasefire
Quds news - Jan 9, 2026
{How Many Times Has Israel Breached Ceasefire Agreement in Gaza in 90
Days?
At least 484 Palestinians have been killed and 1,206 others wounded in
Israeli attacks on Gaza since the ceasefire began, it added.
Gaza (QNN)- Gaza’s Government Media Office on Friday condemned Israel’s
“serious and systematic violations” of the ceasefire agreement, noting
that Israel had breached the truce over 1190 times since it came into
force on October 10.
Attacks and Killings
The Office said Israel shot at civilians 384 times, raided residential
areas beyond the “yellow line” 66 times, bombed and shelled Gaza 551
times, and demolished people’s properties on 192 occasions. It added
that Israel had also abducted 50 Palestinians from Gaza. At least 484
Palestinians have been killed and 1,206 others wounded in Israeli
attacks on Gaza since the ceasefire began, it added.
Humanitarian Aid
Israel has also continued to block essential humanitarian aid from
entering the enclave despite the ceasefire stipulating that “full aid
will be immediately sent into the Gaza Strip”. From October 10 to
January 9, only 23,019 trucks have entered Gaza out of 54,000, averaging
255 trucks per day. That is only 43 percent of the trucks allocated. In
addition, Israel has blocked essential and nutritious food items,
including meat, dairy, and vegetables, crucial for a balanced diet.
Instead, non-nutritious foodstuffs are being allowed, such as snacks,
chocolate, crisps, and soft drinks.
Shelters
The Office has warned of a rapidly deepening and unprecedented
humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip, as Israel continues to close
border crossings and block the entry of tents, mobile homes, caravans,
and other essential shelter materials, “in clear violation of existing
agreements and international humanitarian law.” The Office pointed to
recent storms which have caused the collapse of 50 homes and buildings
that had previously been damaged by Israeli bombardment, killing 15
civilians. People have also died from extreme cold inside tents.
Meanwhile, more than 127,000 tents are no longer usable, leaving over
1.5 million displaced people without even the most basic level of
protection.
What Hamas Says?
At least 14 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli attacks across Gaza
since Thursday morning, with strikes targeting shelters, tents, and
residential homes.
On Thursday, Hamas condemned Israel’s recent bombardment of the Gaza
Strip, describing it as a “dangerous criminal escalation” and a “blatant
violation” of the ceasefire agreement. The group said the Israeli attack
on Gaza “aims to disrupt the situation, evade the agreement’s
obligations, and obstruct the transition to the second phase.” According
to the Palestinian Civil Defense in Gaza, Israel has killed five
children in less than 24 hours in attacks across the devastated
territory, the youngest of whom was five years old. The Palestinian
group has called on the mediators and the states guaranteeing the
ceasefire agreement to “condemn these serious violations, carried out
under flimsy and fabricated pretexts by war criminal Netanyahu, and to
exert pressure on the occupation to halt them and fully adhere to the
terms of the agreement.” Senior Hamas official Ghazi Hamad has warned
that Israel’s “blatant and outrageous violations” threaten the ceasefire
agreement. Hamad, who is also a member of Hamas’s negotiating team, said
Israel manipulated the terms of the ceasefire agreement. Mediators
confirmed that Hamas did not commit a single violation of the agreement
and fully adhered to it, he noted. “The occupation army’s repeated
violations are clear evidence that they are planned by the government.”
Hamad said that Israel violates the ceasefire 25 times a day. Since the
ceasefire took effect, Israel has killed about 400 Palestinians, more
than 95% of them were civilians. “Israel killed civilians, particularly
women and children, on purpose," and “wiped out entire families,” he
said. The official confirmed that the group provided the names of those
killed by Israel during the ceasefire “in order to prove that the vast
majority of them were civilians. We did, in fact, submit their names and
ages, which clearly demonstrated that the killings were deliberately
targeting civilians.” Among them 36% were children, 15% women, 4%
elderly, and 37% civilian men, “confirming that civilians were targeted
despite the ceasefire.” Recently, the group’s Gaza chief, Khalil
al-Hayya, confirmed that Israel’s violations risk jeopardising the
ceasefire deal in Gaza and the move towards the second and more
complicated phase of the fragile agreement. He called on mediators – US
President Donald Trump in particular – “to work on obliging Israel to
respect the ceasefire and commit to it”.} Video - Source: https://qudsnen.co/post?id=67026&slug=how-many-times-has-israel-breached-ceasefire-agreement-in-gaza-in-90-days

{After Killing Woman and Blocking Doctor From Helping Her in
Minneapolis: Are ICE Agents Trained by Israel?
The fatal shooting has sparked questions about similarities between the
actions of ICE agents and the treatment and attacks carried out by
Israeli forces against Palestinians and whether ICE agents receive
training from Israel or are even Israeli soldiers themselves.
Minnesota (QNN)- A US immigration officer fatally shot a woman in her
car in Minneapolis, sparking protests in the city over the “reckless use
of power.” The ICE shooting has raised questions about similarities
between ICE actions and those of Israeli forces, including whether
officers receive training in Israel, especially after the officer
prevented a doctor from helping the victim. The ICE agent shot and
killed on Wednesday a 37-year-old woman in the head in front of a family
member, about 1.6 kilometres from where George Floyd was killed by
police in 2020, during the Trump administration's latest immigration
crackdown on a major American city, a shooting that federal officials
claimed was an act of self-defense but that the city's mayor described
as "reckless" and unnecessary. Her killing was recorded on video by
witnesses, and the scene of the shooting quickly drew a large crowd of
angry protesters. The victim, 37-year-old Renee Nicole Macklin Good, had
a six-year old child. She described herself on social media as a "poet
and writer and wife and mom" who was from Colorado. Minneapolis Mayor
Jacob Frey blasted that characterization and the federal deployment of
more than 2,000 officers as part of the immigration crackdown in the
Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul. "They are not here to cause
safety in this city. What they are doing is not to provide safety in
America. What they are doing is causing chaos and distrust," Frey
said. "They're ripping families apart. They're sowing chaos on our
streets and in this case quite literally killing people." The mayor
added: "They are already trying to spin this as an action of
self-defence. Having seen the video myself, I wanna tell everybody
directly, that is bullshit." "Get the f--k out of Minneapolis. We do not
want you here.” One video shows that moments after the ICE agent fatally
shot the woman, a man who identified himself as a doctor was barred by
officers from checking on the victim. "Can I go check a pulse?," a man
asks. An agent tells the man, "No," and to back up. "I'm a physician,"
the man replied. "I don't care," one agent is heard saying. The fatal
shooting has sparked questions about similarities between the actions of
ICE agents and the treatment and attacks carried out by Israeli forces
against Palestinians and whether ICE agents receive training from Israel
or are even Israeli soldiers themselves. Social media users shared a
video of Anthony Aguilar, a retired US officer who also worked for the
infamous Israeli and US-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation, during
which he says: “ICE trains in Israel — then brings those same apartheid
tactics back home.” “ICE is Copying Israel's IDF Playbook in America,”
wrote one user on X. In 2017, Jewish Voice for Peace (JVP) launched the
Deadly Exchange campaign to sever the decades-long collaboration between
U.S. law enforcement and the Israeli military. JVP said its Freedom of
Information Act (FOIA) requests revealed that well over a thousand
police, sheriffs and federal agents, including the FBI, ICE, and
Homeland Security, had flown to Israel for training in surveillance,
racial profiling, crowd control, detention, and deportation. } Video -

{Israeli attack on Gaza tent kills at least three Palestinians
At least 425 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli attacks since an
October ceasefire came into effect, the Health Ministry says. An Israeli
attack on a tent in southern Gaza has killed at least three Palestinians
and wounded three others, local rescuers say, as Israel continues to
bomb the coastal enclave despite an October ceasefire. The Palestinian
Civil Defence in Gaza said on Thursday that its teams recovered the
bodies of three slain residents after the Israeli military bombed a
family’s tent in the al-Mawasi area of Khan Younis. Three others were
wounded, including one person who suffered critical injuries, the agency
said in a post on Telegram. Separately, Israeli fire killed an
11-year-old Palestinian girl named Hamsa Housou in northern Gaza’s
Jabalia area. Her uncle, Khamis Housou, said he woke up to screaming in
the family’s building. “I saw Hamsa lying on the floor and blood coming
out of her nose and mouth,” he said. The attacks come as Israel has
continued its military assault on Gaza despite a United States-brokered
ceasefire agreement that came into effect on October 10.
At least 425 Palestinians have been killed and 1,206 others wounded in
Israeli attacks since October 11, according to the Palestinian Health
Ministry in Gaza. At the same time, hundreds of thousands of displaced
families have been sheltering in makeshift tent camps across Gaza after
their homes were destroyed in Israel’s genocidal war against
Palestinians in the territory. Israel has refused to allow a free flow
of shelter supplies into the Gaza Strip, despite warnings from the
United Nations and humanitarian groups that Palestinians are suffering
amid a series of deadly winter storms. Encampments have been flooded due
to heavy rainfall and flooding in recent weeks, prompting calls from
Palestinians for better tents, blankets and warm clothes Doctors Without
Borders, known by its French acronym MSF, said this week that
Palestinians in Gaza were suffering from “respiratory infections, wound
complications [and] skin diseases” as a result of harsh living
conditions.

Baby in Gaza dies from cold
Babies are also “suffering from severe cold”, the group said, “all the
while Israel continues to block or delay the entry of vital supplies
like tents, tarpaulins, and temporary housing”. Meanwhile, Israel has
moved to block international aid groups, including MSF and the Norwegian
Refugee Council, from operating in the Strip. Israel has revoked the
operating licences of 37 aid organisations for failing to comply with
new regulations that require them to provide detailed information on
staff members, funding and operations. Experts say those requirements
contravene humanitarian principles and follow a longstanding Israeli
government campaign to vilify and ultimately impede the work of aid
groups providing assistance to Palestinians. On Thursday, the Reuters
news agency reported that MSF, Medecins du Monde Suisse and the Danish
Refugee Council said the Israeli authorities refused to allow their
international staff to enter Gaza this week. The targeted groups have
said they will be forced to stop providing key services, including
healthcare, in Gaza as a result of Israel’s ban, putting Palestinian
lives at risk.} Video - Source: https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2026/1/8/israeli-attack-on-gaza-tent-kills-at-least-three-palestinians

Apartheid street
Quds news - Jan 8, 2026
{UN Rights Chief Says Israeli Policies Against Palestinians in West Bank
‘Resembles Apartheid System’
"This is a particularly severe form of racial discrimination and
segregation that resembles the kind of apartheid system we have seen
before," High Commissioner Volker Türk warned.
Occupied West Bank (QNN)- The UN human rights office has issued a report
detailing Israel's "systemic discrimination" against Palestinians in the
occupied West Bank and said Israel’s “oppression and domination” of
Palestinians resembles “apartheid”. In a new report on Wednesday, the
Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights said Israeli laws,
policies and practices were having an "asphyxiating impact" on every
aspect of daily life for Palestinians and violated an international
convention against racial discrimination. "This is a particularly severe
form of racial discrimination and segregation that resembles the kind of
apartheid system we have seen before," High Commissioner Volker Türk
warned. This is the first time a UN human rights chief has explicitly
compared Israeli policies in the West Bank to apartheid, which was
coined during South Africa’s system of racial segregation that lasted
from 1948 to 1994. "Whether accessing water, school, rushing to
hospital, visiting family or friends, or harvesting olives - every
aspect of life for Palestinians in the West Bank is controlled and
curtailed by Israel's discriminatory laws, policies and practices" Türk
said in a statement. According to the 42-page report by his office,
Israel treats Israeli settlers and Palestinians living in the West Bank
under two distinct bodies of law and policies that result in unequal
treatment on a range of critical issues.
"Palestinians continue to be subjected to large-scale confiscation of
land and deprivation of access to resources. This has had the effect of
dispossessing them of their lands and homes, alongside other forms of
systemic discrimination, including criminal prosecution in military
courts during which their due process and fair trial rights are
systematically violated," it finds. The report says there are
"reasonable grounds to believe that this separation, segregation, and
subordination is intended to be permanent, indicating that these laws,
policies, and practices amount to a deliberate policy of physical and
juridical separation intended to maintain oppression and domination of
Palestinians in the occupied West Bank". It adds that this amounts to a
violation of Israel's obligations under the International Convention on
the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination (ICERD) to prevent
racial segregation and apartheid in territories under its jurisdiction.
The reports says systemic discrimination against Palestinians has been
"a long-standing concern" for the UN but that it has "drastically
deteriorated" since at least December 2022 and especially since the
start of the Israeli genocide in Gaza in October 2023. It also says that
Israel's settlement expansion in the West Bank had intensified over the
past two years, citing the approval last month of the construction of 19
new settlements, which Israeli ministers said will block the
establishment of a Palestinian state. "Every negative trend documented
in the report has not only continued but accelerated. And every day this
is allowed to continue, the consequences worsen for Palestinians," Türk
warned. Israel has previously rejected the apartheid accusations, saying
its policies are driven by “security concerns” rather than racial or
ethnic discrimination. The UN rights office said the discrimination in
the Palestinian territories is compounded by continuing and escalating
settler violence in many cases “with the acquiescence, support and
participation of Israel’s security forces”. Last year was one of the
most violent on record for Israeli settler attacks against Palestinians
in the occupied West Bank, according to United Nations data that shows
more than a thousand Palestinians were killed between October 7, 2023
and October 17, 2025, in Israeli attacks carried out by Israeli forces
and settlers, including over 220 children. In 2025, OCHA
documented at least 1,680 settler attacks, an average of five per day.
B’Tselem, an Israeli human rights group, said settlers were attacking
Palestinians “daily”, including “shooting, beating and threatening
residents, throwing stones, torching fields, destroying trees and crops,
stealing produce, blocking roads, invading homes, and burning cars”.
Israeli settlements are illegal under international law. Today, 600,000
to 750,000 settlers live in more than 250 settlements and outposts
across the West Bank and occupied East Jerusalem. Many of these are near
Palestinian towns and villages, often leading to attacks on Palestinian
residents and severe movement restrictions for Palestinians.} Video -

Heba Muraisi and Kamran Ahmed have refused food for 67 and 60
days-Courtesy of Amareen Afzal, Shahmina Alam
Al Jazeera - Jan 8, 2026 Anealla Safdar
{Palestine Action hunger strikers near death ‘intent’ on continuing
protests
Remand prisoners suffering from host of dangerous symptoms will keep
refusing food as the government refuses to meet their demands, their
loved ones say.
London, United Kingdom – Heba Muraisi and Kamran Ahmed, Palestine
Action-linked British activists on the brink of death, are determined to
keep up their prison hunger strike until their demands are met, their
friends and relatives have told Al Jazeera. They have refused food for
67 and 60 days, respectively, as part of a rolling protest that began in
November. Five of the eight individuals who have participated overall
have ended their hunger strikes over health fears. Lewie Chiaramello,
who turned 23 on Thursday, is the third prisoner also refusing food.
Muraisi, the longest fasting member of the group, “looks very pale and
thin”, said her friend Amareen Afzal, who visited the 31-year-old on
Wednesday. “Her cheekbones are quite prominent. She looks quite
emaciated.” Muraisi, a Londoner who had worked as a florist and
lifeguard, is reportedly suffering from muscle spasms, breathlessness,
severe pain and a low white blood cell count. She has been admitted to
hospital three times over the past nine weeks. Afzal has also noticed
the decline of Muraisi’s memory and said it is now “more difficult for
her to stay engaged conversationally”. “She speaks of herself as dying
and she’s very aware and she is worried,” Afzal said. But Muraisi is
“intent on carrying on until the demands are met”, she added. The group
of remand prisoners are being held in various jails over their alleged
involvement in break-ins at the UK subsidiary of the Israeli defence
firm Elbit Systems in Bristol and a Royal Air Force (RAF) base in
Oxfordshire. They deny the charges against them. Their protest demands
include bail, the right to a fair trial and the de-proscription of
Palestine Action, which the UK in July designated as a “terrorist
organisation”, putting it on par with ISIL (ISIS) and al-Qaeda. They are
calling for all Elbit sites to be closed in the UK and have demanded an
end to what they call censorship in prison, accusing authorities of
withholding mail, calls and books. All eight individuals will have spent
more than a year in prison before their trials take place, well beyond
the UK’s usual six-month pre-trial detention limit. At the time of
publishing, the Ministry of Defence had not responded to Al Jazeera’s
request for comment. ‘It feels like now every time you see him, it could
be the last’ Ahmed, a mechanic from London, has lost hearing in his left
ear, suffers with chest pains, breathlessness and dizzy spells, and has
a low heart rate that intermittently drops below 40 beats per minute,
said Shahmina Alam, who visited her 28-year-old brother on Sunday. He
was admitted to hospital on Tuesday for a sixth time since he began
refusing food in November, she said. “He’s skinny. I describe him a bit
like a piece of paper,” she told Al Jazeera. “Where his body’s lost a
lot of weight, he’s a bit hunched over. “His cheeks are sticking out. …
When he got up to leave, it’s really like slow steps, and you can tell
it takes a lot of energy to lift his legs. “It feels like now every time
you see him, it could be the last.” She feels anxious as “the more time
that’s going, the more resolved he is to continue it and ensure that his
demands are met.” Ahmed is “aware that at this stage he could suddenly
pass away”, she said, but “he’s still determined.” The group’s lawyers
are calling for a meeting with David Lammy, the deputy prime minister
and justice secretary, hoping to discuss the prisoners’ welfare. Despite
criticism from doctors, United Nations experts, some politicians and
leading barristers, the government has refused, saying hunger strikes
are not unusual in prisons and policies regarding food refusal are being
followed. “We wouldn’t be in this position had the government chosen to
engage in a meaningful conversation with … [Ahmed’s] legal
representatives or even just a mediator,” Alam said.
Doctor warns of death, irreversible health damage
Chiaramello has refused food every other day for several weeks because
he has type 1 diabetes. He has been “almost perpetually quite ill”, said
his partner, Nneoma Joe-Ejim, a trainee solicitor, who visited him on
Wednesday. She fears he is at a higher risk of a diabetic coma. On the
days he fasts, he suffers from disorientation, dizziness and
sluggishness, she said, adding that she is worried about his new
feelings of depression. “He does seem depleted a lot of the time,” she
said. James Smith, an emergency physician who is among a group of
doctors advising the hunger strikers, warned of a critical phase in
which death and irreversible health damage are increasingly likely. He
also criticised the manner and level of medical care within the prison
system. Teuta Hoxha, who ended her hunger strike after 58 days, is
understood to be in hospital while Amu Gib, who paused their protest
after 50 days, remains “physically weak”, Gib’s friend Nida Jafri said.
“Amu has no [doctor’s] advice on refeeding right now,” she told Al
Jazeera. “They’re left to using their own judgement to figure out how
much and of what food they should eat. We, as loved ones, are terrified
of this. We are aware that the reintroduction of food can be deadly if
done incorrectly.” Muraisi is “wasting away”, Smith said, adding that
her muscle spasms as well as Ahmed’s hearing loss could signal
neurological issues. Chiaramello’s diabetic state is likely worsening
and could cause long-term damage, he said. “The trajectory that they are
on at the moment can only end in one way, which is progressive decline
and eventually death,” he told Al Jazeera. “The organs can hold out for
quite some time, particularly in young healthy individuals, and then
they can collapse very quickly.” Hundreds of doctors have called on the
UK government to increase the frequency of medical observations of the
hunger strikers.
Several of the activists are said to have been handcuffed and restrained
while in hospital, leading to claims of degrading and dehumanising
procedures that overreach stated prison policies. “It really is the most
undignified treatment that I have ever come across in an NHS [National
Health Service] environment in my career as a doctor,” Smith said. Alam
concurred, saying Ahmed fears hospital admissions because he finds the
experience “mentally difficult”. “He’s cuffed constantly” while in
hospital, which has led to bruised wrists, and is surrounded by a larger
number of prison guards, she said. On Wednesday, supporters of the
protesters drew parallels with history-shaping hunger strikes. The
current action is said to be the largest coordinated hunger strike in
British history since 1981 when Irish Republican inmates were led by
Bobby Sands. Sands and nine others died of starvation. Muraisi’s 66th
day of refusing food was “significant because it was on the 66th day of
hunger strike that Bobby Sands died at the hands of the state”, the
Prisoners for Palestine group said. Francesca Nadin, the group’s
spokesperson, told Al Jazeera that she accuses the government of
“complete contempt for the safety and for the lives of these innocent
young people because they are innocent until proven guilty. “The
government seems to forget about that.”} Video - Source: https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2026/1/8/palestine-action-hunger-strikers-near-death-intent-on-continuing-protests

“Anti-Palestinian Racism”: Adelaide Festival Drops Prominent
Palestinian-Australian Author Over Bondi Attack, Despite No Connection;
Speakers Withdraw in Protest
Adelaide (QNN)- The Adelaide Festival has dropped prominent
Palestinian-Australian academic Randa Abdel-Fattah from its lineup over
the Bondi attack, despite her having no link to the incident, a decision
she condemned as “anti-Palestinian racism and censorship” and which
triggered withdrawals by fellow writers and sponsors. The festival
covers arts, music, talks and theatre and includes Adelaide’s annual
Writers’ Week next month, where Abdel-Fattah was due to appear for the
second time after hosting a number of panels and sessions in 2023. In a
Thursday statement, the festival’s board said it had been “shocked and
saddened by the tragic events at Bondi” and the “significant heightening
of both community tensions and the community debate”. “As the Board
responsible for the Adelaide Festival organisation and all Adelaide
Writers’ Week events, staff, volunteers and participants, we have today
advised scheduled writer Dr Randa Abdel-Fattah that the Board has formed
the judgment that we do not wish to proceed with her scheduled
appearance at next month’s Writers’ Week,” it added.
Within hours of the board’s announcement, Abdel-Fattah issued her own
statement, slamming the festival board’s “blatant and shameless
anti-Palestinian racism and censorship.” She said the board’s attempt to
associate her with the Bondi massacre was “despicable”. “The Adelaide
Writers Festival Board has stripped me of my humanity and agency,
reducing me to an object onto which others can project their racist
fears and smears,” she added. “The Board’s reasoning suggests that my
mere presence is ‘culturally insensitive’; that I, a Palestinian who had
nothing to do with the Bondi atrocity, am somehow a trigger for those in
mourning and that I should therefore be persona non grata in cultural
circles because my very presence as a Palestinian is threatening and
‘unsafe’.”
Abdel-Fattah also took aim at Australian arts and cultural institutions
in general, accusing them of displaying “utter contempt and inhumanity
towards Palestinians” since 7 October 2023, when Israel launched its
genocidal war on Gaza. “The only Palestinians they will tolerate are
silent and invisible ones,” she said. The board said while it did not
suggest “in any way” that Abdel-Fattah or her writings had any
connection with the tragedy at Bondi, it claimed that the decision was
made “given her past statements”. “We have formed the view that it would
not be culturally sensitive to continue to program her at this
unprecedented time so soon after Bondi,” it said. “We understand these
Board decisions will likely be disappointing to many in our community.
We also recognise our request to Dr Abdel-Fattah will be labelled and
will cause discomfort and pressure to other participants. These
decisions have not been taken lightly.” “Our only request is that our
community is respectful to our staff and volunteers who have not formed
part of our decision-making process and deserve nothing but ongoing
support for their excellent work.” Abdel-Fattah said she was confident
that the writing community and public would respond with “principle and
integrity, as they did when I was singled out in the same racist way
during the Bendigo Writers Festival”. “In the end, the Adelaide Writers
Festival will be left with panellists who demonise a Palestinian out of
one side of their mouths while waxing lyrical about freedom of speech
from the other.” By Thursday afternoon, statements of withdrawal from
fellow writers and sponsors started appearing. The Australia Institute
announced the withdrawal of its sponsorship for the 2026 event, which in
the past had “promoted bravery, freedom of expression and the exchange
of ideas”, it said in a statement. “Censoring or cancelling authors is
not in the spirit of an open and free exchange of ideas.” A former
director of Adelaide Writers’ Week, Jo Dyer, posted on Bluesky that she
was “appalled” at the Adelaide festival board’s decision – “a shocking
decision that will and should have far-reaching consequences”. The
Stella prize-winning poet Evelyn Araluen was one of the first writers to
publicly withdraw. The Dropbear and The Rot author said the board’s
decision was a “devastating betrayal’ of the democratic ethos that has
defined the festival. “I am so disappointed to witness yet another
absurd and irrational capitulation to the demands of a genocidal foreign
state from the Australian arts sector,” she posted on Instagram.
“Erasing Palestinians from public life in Australia won’t prevent anti
semitism. Removing Palestinians from writers festivals won’t prevent
anti semitism. I refuse to participate in this spectacle of censorship.”
The First Nations academic and writer Chelsea Watego posted an Adelaide
Writers’ Week list of 2026 confirmed writers on Instagram with her name
crossed out. Abdel-Fattah had faced sustained criticism for her
pro-apalestine, anti-genocide comments. The Adelaide-based publisher
Pink Shorts Press said it “strongly condemns” the removal of
Abdel-Fattah from programming and was now considering whether it would
continue its collaboration with the festival. Last year, Abdel-Fattah
was among about 30 participants who pulled out of the Bendigo writers’
festival after it issued a last-minute code of conduct that one said
requires “complete self-censorship” over Israel’s war in Gaza.} Video -

Gaza (QNN)- A Palestinian child was killed on Thursday morning after
Israeli forces shot her in northern Gaza, in yet another violation of
the fragile ceasefire. Israel has continued to breach the agreement,
killing hundreds of civilians and blocking much-needed aid from entering
the enclave. Local sources confirmed that 11-year-old Hamsa Housou was

continues to attack the Strip using airstrikes, artillery, and direct
gunfire. Loud explosions were reportedly heard in northern Gaza late
last night.
Since the declaration of a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip on October 10,
2025, Israel has violated the agreement with near-daily attacks. It
violated the ceasefire agreement at least 969 times from October 10 to
December 28, the Gaza Government Media Office said The office said
Israel shot at civilians 298 times, raided residential areas beyond the
“yellow line” 54 times, bombed and shelled Gaza 455 times, and
demolished people’s properties on 162 occasions. It added that Israel

Gaza (QNN)- Two Palestinians were killed on Wednesday evening in an
Israeli airstrike on a home in eastern Gaza City in a new Israeli
violation of Trump's ceasefire agreement. Others were injured in the
assault, which hit al-Tuffah neighborhood. Medical sources said the
victims were two young men. The strike targeted a house belonging to
Alwan family on Yafa Street in al-Tuffah, east of Gaza City. The Israeli
army claimed the attack followed a ceasefire violation in northern Gaza.
It did not provide evidence. In a statement, the army alleged that Hamas
fighters opened fire toward Israeli forces stationed in the area. The
army also claimed it targeted a Hamas commander who was planning attacks
against Israeli forces in northern Gaza. The attack comes amid continued
Israeli violations of the ceasefire. The agreement entered into force on
October 10 last year. Since then, Israel murdered at least 424
Palestinians. Another 1,199 people have been injured, according to The
Ministry of Health. On October 8, 2023, Israel launched a genocide
in Gaza that lasted two years. The genocide killed more than 71,000
Palestinians. It wounded at least 171,000 others. The genocide caused
massive destruction across the Strip. About 90 percent of Gaza’s
civilian infrastructure suffered damage or destruction. The United
Nations estimates reconstruction costs at around $70 billion. Israeli
strikes have continued despite the ceasefire, raising concerns over its
collapse and the ongoing civilian toll in Gaza.} Video - Source: https://qudsnen.co/post?id=67018&slug=two-citizens-killed-in-israeli-airstrike-on-home-in-eastern-gaza
