Israel Kills Two Children Every Day
{Six killed in Gaza over past day: Health Ministry
Gaza’s Health Ministry says the hospitals in the enclave also received
17 injured Palestinians in the last 24-hour reporting period. As we
previously reported, at least 373 people have been killed and 970
wounded by Israeli attacks since the start of the ceasefire in October,
according to the Health Ministry.

Marwan Barghouti
& Global campaign launched to free jailed Palestinian leader Marwan
Barghouti
An international campaign to free popular Palestinian leader Marwan
Barghouti, who has been jailed in Israel since 2002, is gathering pace,
with more than 200 A-listers, from author Margaret Atwood to actor
Javier Bardem, lending their support. “We express our grave concern at
the continuing imprisonment of Marwan Barghouti, his violent
mistreatment and denial of legal rights whilst imprisoned,” said an open
letter published on Wednesday, calling on the United Nations and
governments to take action. Barghouti, a senior leader of Palestinian
President Mahmoud Abbas’s Fatah group, who is viewed by many as
Palestine’s Nelson Mandela, is serving five life sentences in Israeli
prisons on alleged charges related to attacks during the second
Intifada, which lasted from 2000 to 2005.
& Israel released five Palestinian prisoners from Gaza: Sources
The released prisoners have arrived at al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir
el-Balah, in central Gaza, sources tell Al Jazeera.
& Settlers attack civilian vehicles near the town of Mukhmas
Israeli settlers have attacked vehicles owned by Palestinians near the
town of Mukhmas in the northeast of occupied East Jerusalem, according
to the Wafa news agency, citing a statement by the Jerusalem
Governorate. The statement said that a group of settlers attacked
vehicles on the main road near Mukhmas in the evening, without any
reported injuries.
& Sustained US pressure ‘needed’ to enforce ceasefire in Gaza
By Usaid Siddiqui - Reporting from Doha, Qatar
Sustained US pressure on Israel is needed to ensure that the ceasefire
has direct consequences on the ground in Gaza, Trita Parsi, co-founder
of the Quincy Institute for Responsible Statecraft, has said on the
sidelines of the Doha Forum. “Israelis have developed an artful skill of
being able to walk back ceasefires, walk back their commitments, and
turn them into paper agreements,” Parsi told Al Jazeera. “Once the focus
shifts to Ukraine or to Venezuela, so much of the bandwidth of the [US
Trump] administration goes in that direction. This has then enabled the
Israelis to go forward with what they’re doing. And we knew this would
happen absent that sustained American pressure,” he said. Parsi added
that Middle Eastern nations would have to choose whether or not to react
to what is happening to Palestinians. “If this would not get a strong
reaction, then the rest of the region would be at risk of getting
attacked,” he said.
& Israel’s Lapid, Germany’s Merz discuss bilateral ties
Israeli opposition leader Yair Lapid has met German Chancellor Friedrich
Merz. According to a post on Lapid’s X account, they discussed “regional
opportunities following the end of the war in Gaza and strengthening the
reciprocal relations between the countries”. “I thanked him for the
support in the efforts to return the hostages and for lifting the arms
embargo on Israel,” Lapid wrote on X
& We have to move forward in Gaza, says Norway’s Eide
Norwegian Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide says the situation in Gaza
is “dire” as it is not clear if the war is over or not, as the ceasefire
in the enclave is “fragile”. “We can either move forward or it will go
backwards: If we do not move into phase two, we will either see a return
to war or descent into anarchy,” he told Al Jazeera’s Ali Hashem from
the Doha Forum. “And we don’t want either of those, so we have to move
forward,” the top diplomat stressed. He said that the relevant parties
are trying to identify “the concrete steps” to be taken right now to
move into the next stage.
& 'Germany has no leverage on Israel to prevent West Bank
annexation’
By Nour Odeh Reporting from Ramallah, West Bank
The German chancellor has warned against annexation and talked about the
two-state solution, but he also gave up all the leverage Germany has.
He’s already lifted a short-lived suspension of military exports to
Israel and now signed a $4.5bn arms deal – the largest in Israel’s
history. It doesn’t seem he has a lot of pressure points to stop Israel
from annexing the West Bank. The only party that has enough leverage to
pressure Israel into some sort of compliance is the Trump
administration, which made it very clear that it opposes annexation. Of
course, we’re talking here about formal annexation, because on the
ground, this is already happening. As far as Netanyahu is concerned, the
only thing that is important about phase two of the ceasefire deal is to
disarm Hamas. Netanyahu and Merz know that Israel has not fulfilled its
end of the first phase of the deal – namely, opening five crossings,
allowing enough aid to enter, and allowing the movement of people in and
out of Gaza through the Rafah crossing. The only thing that the two
leaders seemed to agree on was the need to disarm Hamas and completely
alienate it from Palestinian politics.
& Civil Defence completes transfer of bodies from al-Ahli Arab
Hospital
Gaza’s Civil Defence has said it completed the transfer of the remains
of Palestinians killed inside the al-Ahli Arab Hospital, also known as
the Baptist Hospital, ahead of burial in a cemetery. In a statement, it
said the operation was conducted in coordination with the Ministry of
Health. The hospital was hit by two Israeli missiles in April as it was
treating hundreds of patients. Several people were also killed in
attacks near the hospital in September.
& Medical support to Gaza is priority: UNDP chief
Alexandre De Croo, the administrator of the United Nations Development
Programme, says priorities for Gaza aid and development are in the
medical area. “We know that there are risks of communicable diseases
that are propagating, so providing medical support is crucial,” the
former Belgian prime minister told Al Jazeera from the Doha Forum. De
Croo said the removal of the debris in the enclave was crucial;
otherwise, “the health risk continues, and the reconstruction cannot
start”. He stressed a peace conference is needed for the “clarification
of financing”. “Financing can be broad, of course. It can be grants; it
can also be loans,” he said. De Croo concluded: “From the perspective of
us, trying to help as many people as possible, the faster that peace
conference is, the faster we can help people.”
& Israeli forces arrest West Bank ambulance crew
Al Jazeera’s correspondent on the ground and Wafa, the Palestinian news
agency, report that soldiers arrested the crew after detaining their
vehicle for several hours at the entrance to the city of el-Bireh.
Eyewitnesses told Wafa that the ambulance belonged to the municipality
of Silwad, and that both paramedics on board, Ahed Smeirat and Mujahid
Abu Aliya, were arrested after their detention.
& Israeli army claims to have killed fighter who crossed yellow line
According to a statement on Telegram, the military identified a fighter
who passed the ceasefire line in southern Gaza. The army claimed that
the individual “approached the forces in a manner that posed an
immediate threat” before he was killed by Israeli forces. There was no
immediate statement on the claims from the authorities in Gaza. Dozens
of Palestinians, including women and children, have been killed by the
Israeli army for approaching or crossing the yellow line of demarcation
since the ceasefire went into effect.
& Palestinian football coach gets hope, advice from mother in Gaza
tent
The Palestinian team is 96th in the FIFA rankings. But the squad is
within reach of the Arab Cup quarterfinals. Palestine play Syria in
their final Arab Cup group match today, where a draw would be enough to
achieve an unprecedented feat for the team. Coach Ehab Abu Jazar is
guiding a national team that carries on its shoulders all the hopes and
sorrows of Palestinian football, but it is his mother, forced by war to
live in a Gaza tent, who is his main inspiration and motivation. Abu
Jazar’s mother refuses to let the conflict overshadow the sporting
dreams of her son, to whom she feeds tactical advice from the rubble of
the Palestinian territory by phone. “She talks to me about nothing but
the team. She wants the focus to remain solely on the tournament,” the
45-year-old manager told the AFP news agency. “My mother asks me about
the players, who will play as starters and who will be absent, about the
tactics, the morale of the players and the circumstances surrounding
them. “We always say that we are a small Palestinian family representing
the larger family,” he said. “Undoubtedly, it puts pressure on us, but
it’s positive pressure.” He said progress would show the world that the
Palestinians, if given the right conditions, can “excel in all fields”.
& Another Israeli soldier dies by suicide after taking part in war
on Gaza
Israeli news outlet Maariv is reporting that an Israeli soldier, Nahorai
Rafael Barzani, has died by suicide after suffering from PTSD following
his participation in the war on Gaza.
& Gaza death toll rises
Gaza’s Health Ministry has said that at least 373 people have been
killed and 970 wounded since the start of the ceasefire in October. The
ministry added that the death toll in Israel’s genocidal war on Gaza
since October 2023 has risen to 70,360, with another 171,047 people
wounded. It added that 52 percent of essential medicines were out of
stock despite the ceasefire deal, as well as 70 percent of laboratory
consumables.

Israel’s evolving starvation of Gaza
& Activists demonstrate in Berlin to condemn Israeli genocide
While the German chancellor is on a visit of Israel, activists in the
German capital Berlin are holding a demonstration to condemn Israel’s
ongoing genocidal war on Gaza, to demand a halt to arms exports to
Israel and to express their support for Palestine.
& German chancellor backs calls for creation of Palestinian state
Following a meeting with Netanyahu in Tel Aviv, German Chancellor Merz
said:
The second phase must begin in Gaza according to President Trump’s plan,
and Israel must sometimes be under surveillance.
Hamas must not have any role in Gaza.
We want a new Middle East that recognizes a Palestinian state alongside
the State of Israel.
Negotiations on this are necessary now and a Palestinian state at the
end of the process.
We are helping the Palestinian Authority but we also criticise it for
its various activities.
& Two-state solution is the only way forward: Saudi official
A senior official from Saudi Arabia says a two-state solution is the
only way to end the Israel-Palestine conflict. Manal Radwan, an official
in the Foreign Ministry, told the Doha Forum 2025 that President Trump’s
peace plan is clear and there should not be efforts to diverge from it.
“We cannot be open to redefinition and renegotiation of what we have
already agreed to and also what was issued as a Security Council
resolution that was passed and welcomed by all parties,” Radwan said.
“So we cannot go back and redefine what we mean by ceasefire, what we
mean even by disarmament, what we mean by a Palestinian-led process in
governing Gaza. “Almost everyone in the international community agrees
that the two-state solution is the only solution forward. If that is so,
then it is asking people what it is that they are going to do to bring
this implementation and make it possible.”

Painting 'planting olive tree' By Yara Youssef Abu Kweik
& Israeli bulldozers uproot hundreds of olive trees in West Bank
village
Israeli bulldozers have uprooted hundreds of olive trees in the village
of Qaryut, south of Nablus in the occupied West Bank. Olive trees have
been cultivated across Palestine for thousands of years, serving as a
source of livelihood, cultural heritage and resilience. More than
100,000 families rely on the harvest for their income. It runs through
to November and brings together the entire community.
& Group sounds alarm over deteriorating condition of two Palestinian
prisoners
The Palestinian Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs has
warned that the health of Faisal Sabana, 65, from Qabatiya, south of
Jenin, and Ali Abu Atiya, 29, from Ramallah, is rapidly deteriorating
amid medical neglect in Israeli prisons. Sabana has been held without
charges or trial since October 25, 2023, and is currently confined in
Ramla prison clinic after being transferred from Nafha prison following
a heart attack on November 1, 2025. The Wafa news agency said he
reportedly experienced symptoms days before the attack and requested
medical attention, which was denied. Abu Atiya was apprehended on
November 4 near his workplace in Ramallah and shot at close range in his
left thigh. He was taken to Shaare Zedek Hospital in Jerusalem, where he
underwent two consecutive surgeries and now needs assistance to walk.
& Four wounded in settler attack near Ramallah
An elderly Palestinian woman, her grandson and two international
solidarity activists were wounded in an attack by Israeli settlers in
the village of al-Mughayyir, east of Ramallah, the Wafa news agency has
reported. The group of settlers attacked the family of Rizq Abu Naim,
breaking his wife’s arm and hitting their grandson on the head. Two
activists were also hit with sticks and stones while in the village.
Separately, Israeli settlers installed mobile homes between the towns of
Burqa and Deir Dibwan, in an attempt to expand the Ramat Migron
settlement, which is built illegally on Palestinian land.
& No long-term alternative to the two-state solution: Norway’s FM
Norway’s Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide told Al Jazeera that any
future governance in Gaza must be Palestinian, and what Israel is doing
in Gaza right now is very dangerous.
In the interview, he said:
The terrible war is not over, and the ceasefire is fragile.
International support for a Palestinian state has never been as strong
as it is now. The situation is difficult, but it presents an opportunity
to end the genocidal war on Gaza and lay the foundations for a solution
to the conflict. We do not invest in any company that exports weapons to
Israel for use in the occupied West Bank. It was a mistake to give
Israel a veto through the Oslo Accords. There is no long-term
alternative to the two-state solution, which must be supported
internationally. The occupation is illegal in every respect, as
confirmed by the ICJ.
& International force in Gaza will be for peacekeeping, not imposing
peace: Egypt’s FM
Egypt’s Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty has told Al Jazeera that an
international force must be deployed in Gaza to ensure that both sides
adhere to the ceasefire. The force should be for peacekeeping, not
imposing peace, he said, adding that there is a huge difference between
the two. He also stressed that weapons must be restricted in the Strip
and that the Rafah crossing should be open to the entry of aid and the
evacuation of medical patients requiring treatment abroad, not to become
a gateway for the displacement of Palestinians.

& In numbers: Attacks by Israeli forces and settlers in occupied
West Bank
Two Palestinians were killed by Israeli forces in Hebron last night.
Since the start of Israel’s genocidal war on Gaza in October 2023, at
least:
1,091 people, including 225 children, have been killed
More than 10,883 wounded
Nearly 21,000 arrested
in attacks by Israeli forces and settlers across the occupied West Bank.

malnourished child clings on to live
& UNRWA finds acutely malnourished children in Gaza screening
The UN agency for Palestinian refugees has identified 508 acutely
malnourished children among almost 7,000 children screened as part of
the first round of an immunisation campaign in Gaza, which was carried
out last month. A famine was declared in Gaza City and its surrounding
area in August, with the Integrated Food Security Phase Classification
(IPC) saying at the time that more than 500,000 people in the Gaza Strip
faced “catastrophic conditions”.

Gaza City’s nights return in darkness as residents rebuild amid ruins
& General strike in Hebron after killing of two Palestinians
A general strike is taking place in Hebron after Israeli soldiers killed
two Palestinians in the Bab al-Zawiya area on Saturday evening. Footage
posted by local media and verified by Al Jazeera shows empty streets in
the occupied West Bank city as shops remain shut. The Israeli army said
the two victims, identified as17-year-old Ahmed Khalil al-Rajabi and
55-year-old Ziad Naeem Abdul-Jabbar Abu Daoud, accelerated their vehicle
at a checkpoint and were shot at by Israeli officers.
& Palestinians have the right to stay in their own land: Qatar’s PM
When asked why Qatar would help pay for the reconstruction of Gaza,
which has been destroyed by a country which also bombed Qatar, Qatar’s
PM said there are double standards at play because if “you say that
Israel has a responsibility to rebuild what it has destroyed, they will
tell you, no”. “As a region, you have the responsibility to do so,” he
said, adding that Qatar “will continue supporting the Palestinian
people… we will do whatever to elevate their suffering”. He said that
Palestinians in Gaza should not be forced to leave their homeland,
adding, “they have all the right to stay and live there”.
& Peace cannot happen without engagement with the region: Qatar’s PM
Qatar’s PM Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim al-Thani says
Qatar began communication with Hamas at the US’s request. “If you have
no one speaking to those non-state actors, how are we going to resolve,
or to reach a solution? Now we have seen that this communication has led
to ceasefires,” he said. He added that unfortunately some politicians
are trying to use this for “short-term political gains to fuel their
narratives”.
& Israeli president rejects Trump’s request to pardon Netanyahu
Israel’s president has rejected Trump’s formal request to pardon
Netanyahu, who has been on trial for more than five years on corruption
charges. Herzog said in an interview with US news outlet Politico that
“I respect President Trump’s friendship and his opinion”, but stressed
that Israel is a sovereign country and that its legal system must be
fully respected. “This is certainly an extraordinary request, and above
all, when dealing with it, I will consider what is the best interest of
the Israeli people. The wellbeing of the Israeli people is my first,
second and third priority.”Last month, Trump sent Herzog a letter in
which he slammed the corruption charges against Israel’s PM as
“political” and “unjustified”.
& Child wounded by Israeli fire in Gaza City
A source at the al-Ahli Hospital in Gaza has told Al Jazeera that a
child has been wounded by Israeli army gunfire outside the yellow line
in the Tuffah neighbourhood of Gaza City.
& Ceasefire not delivering on its promises across Gaza
By Hind Khoudary - Reporting from Gaza City
Israel is not abiding by the terms of the ceasefire agreement. At least
600 trucks should be entering the Gaza Strip every day, but what is
entering is very little.
Cooking gas is only at 16 percent of what is needed; there is a shortage
of shelters, tents, tarps and everything Palestinians need to shelter
from the rain. We see Palestinians collecting wood, cartons and anything
they can light a fire with. Meanwhile, Hamas and the Red Cross teams are
resuming the search for the body of the Israeli captive in the Zeitoun
neighbourhood of Gaza City. This is the last remaining body, and there
is a lot of expectation for Palestinians as to what could happen once it
is handed over. People are asking whether reconstruction is going to
start once that happens and whether the Rafah crossing is going to be
opened. There are many promises for the Palestinians, but so far,
nothing is happening on the ground.
& Doctors improvise as Israel blocks essential medical supplies from
entering Gaza
By Moath al-Kahlout - Reporting from Gaza City
Nearly two months into the ceasefire, the healthcare system in Gaza is
still on the brink of collapse. Doctors say they are struggling to save
lives because Israel is not allowing essential medical supplies into the
Strip. Sweets, mobile phones and even electric bicycles are permitted to
enter, but antibiotics, IV solutions and surgical materials are banned.
The Health Ministry describes the shortages as unprecedented. It says
Israel is allowing just five trucks carrying medical supplies into Gaza
a week. Three go to international organisations such as the UN and its
partners, and two to government-run hospitals. Doctors are improvising
with what little they have left, patients are suffering without
treatment for chronic illnesses, and families are searching for simple
items to make the lives of their loved ones easier – items, they say,
should not be this hard to find.

a mothers grief
& Palestinian prisoners’ group says 275 children in Israeli jails
The Palestinian Prisoners’ Media Office (ASRA) has said 275 Palestinian
children were in Israeli jails as of September, some awaiting trial and
others having been given harsh sentences. The ages of those held in
detention range from 14 to 17, the monitor group said. Palestinians of
all ages are subject to Israeli military law in courts run by Israeli
soldiers and officers, meaning a large number of Palestinians are
imprisoned without basic due process. NGOs have repeatedly called on the
Israeli government to respect international law and end the prosecution
and detention of children under military law.
& Syria’s president accuses Israel of using military action to
divert attention
By Usaid Siddiqui
Syria’s President Ahmed al-Sharaa has accused Israel of stoking regional
tensions to divert attention from the “horrifying massacres” it has
committed in Gaza. Speaking at the Doha Forum, al-Sharaa said Israeli
leaders “often exports crises to other countries” as they increasingly
invoke security pretexts to expand military action. “They justify
everything, using their security concerns, and they take October 7 and
extrapolate it to everything that is happening around them,” he said.
“Israel has become a country that is in a fight against ghosts.”
& FIFA Peace Prize to Trump a ‘truly shameful development’
On Friday, FIFA chief Gianni Infantino handed President Trump the
inaugural FIFA Peace Prize. Craig Mokhiber, a former UN official who has
campaigned to suspend Israel from world football over its genocidal war
in Gaza, called the award to Trump a “truly shameful development”.
Infantino has refused to take action against Israel, arguing that
football “cannot solve geopolitical” issues. “Not satisfied with two
years of FIFA complicity in genocide in Palestine, Infantino and his
cronies have now invented a new ‘peace prize’ in order to curry favour
with Donald Trump,” Mokhiber told Al Jazeera. He added that the award
also aims to “obscure” Trump’s “disgraceful record” of support to
Israel, his deadly strikes on vessels in the Caribbean Sea, and “gross
violations of human rights” inside the US.} more incl. israeli
