<<Iran Cordons Off Teen Protester's Grave on Death Anniversary
The Islamic Republic authorities have blocked access to the gravesite of
a teenager killed during the 2022 protests, coinciding with the second
anniversary of her death. Atash Shakarami, the aunt of Nika Shakrami,
reported that security forces have blocked roads leading to Hayat al-Ghaib
cemetery, where Nika is buried. Shakarami stated on Instagram that their
family is being denied access to the cemetery and Nika's grave. In her
post, she wrote: "The roads to Hayat al-Ghaib cemetery have been closed
by repressive forces and will remain blocked until Saturday, September
21." She added that the movement of local residents has also been
disrupted, funeral ceremonies in the area have been canceled, and daily
life has been severely affected.
Friday marks the second anniversary of Nika Shakrami's death.
Nika Shakarami was a teenage protester who participated in the 2022
uprising sparked by the custodial death of 22-year-old Mahsa Amani. Nika
was abducted by security agents and killed after being subjected to
torture and sexual abuse.>>

Yalda Rahimi
NCRI - Womens committee - 18 Sept 2024 - in Women's News
<<Heartbreaking Tragedy: The Case of Yalda Rahimi
The Unfortunate Death of a Young Girl
In a deeply tragic event, Yalda Rahimi, a 17-year-old girl from
Bagh-e Malek, a town in Khuzestan Province, Iran, ended her life on
September 16, 2024, due to severe poverty and lack of social welfare.
Her final moments took place in the bathroom of the Khomeini Relief
Foundation's office in her town.
Desperation Amidst School Openings
On the day of her death, Yalda Rahimi had visited the Khomeini
Relief Foundation seeking assistance just before the school year was set
to begin. After her request was denied, she chose to take her own life
in the bathroom of the relief office. Her father had taken his own life
by hanging himself several years earlier, leaving Yalda to live with her
grandfather in the village of Dam Ab.
A Stark Contrast to Government Spending
This heartbreaking incident highlights a severe discrepancy
between the Iranian government's lavish expenditures on its projects and
the dire situation of its most vulnerable citizens. The regime's focus
on enforcing Hijab laws and other dramatic measures contrasts sharply
with its neglect of basic social welfare needs. As the regime invests
billions in its theatrical plans, children like Yalda Rahimi, who
desperately need support, are left without aid.
Growing Concern Over Youth Suicides
Official reports indicate a troubling rise in suicides among
Iranian youth in recent years. This alarming trend is often a reflection
of growing social despair and a lack of prospects, as the clerical
regime has destroyed the country's infrastructures and driven at least
60 percent of the populace under the poverty line. (Baharnews.ir,

<<Nasim Gholami Sentenced to 6 Years in Prison, 74 Lashes, and 20
Years Exile
42 Years of Imprisonment and Exile for Nasim Gholami Simiyari and
Six Other Political Prisoners
On Monday, September 16, 2024, Branch 26 of the Tehran
Revolutionary Court issued severe sentences for seven political
prisoners. Among them, Nasim Gholami Simiyari has been sentenced to six
years, 74 lashes, and 20 years of exile to Anguran in Zanjan Province.
The court emphasized that her exile should be carried out so that she is
not permitted to interact with others.
Nasim Gholami Simiyari, born on July 13, 1988, is currently
incarcerated in the women's ward of Evin Prison, having spent nearly 490
days in detention. She was arrested on May 18, 2023, by the IRGC
intelligence agents in Tehran. After being transferred to multiple
detention centers, and enduring physical and psychological torture, she
was coerced into giving forced confessions on camera. Five months later,
she was charged with <assembly and collusion,> <propaganda against the
regime,> and <armed insurgency (Bagh-ye).>
In addition to Nasim Gholami Simiyari, six other political
prisoners were sentenced to long-term imprisonment and exile in the same
trial. These individuals include Hamidreza Soheil-Abadi, Amin Sokhanvar,
Ehsan Ravazjiyan, Ali Herati Mokhtari, Hossein Mohammad Hosseini, and

<<Childcare Facility Closed After Child Beating Video Emerges
A video showing the beating of a working child at a childcare
center in Iran's Karaj has sparked outrage on social media and prompted
action from authorities. The head of the welfare organization announced
the closure of the facility and the temporary arrest of two officials in
response to the incident. The Welfare Organization issued a notice
stating, "The child abuse at the daycare center has been investigated."
It added, "Upon confirmation of the violation, the center was closed by
order of the prosecutor, and its manager and guard were temporarily
detained." The scandal came to light when journalist Shahin Samadpour
shared a video on his Instagram account. The footage shows a man
physically assaulting a child within the care center's premises.
According to the welfare organization's statement, the incident happened
when the boy attempted to leave while staff members were occupied with
picking vegetables in the yard. The child reportedly took advantage of
an unsecured door, grabbed a saw knife, and fled the premises. Upon the
child's return to the center, the guard attempted to retrieve the knife.
However, the situation escalated, resulting in the child being beaten
due to the "escape attempt." Following the center's closure, eight
children have been relocated to a nearby facility for working
children.>>

<<IRGC Clashes with Kurdish Opposition: 4 Komala Members Killed
Violent clashes broke out between Iran's Islamic Revolutionary
Guard Corps (IRGC) and members of the Komala Party of Iranian Kurdistan
in the border region of western Iran. The Kurdistan Human Rights Network
reported that intense fighting took place in the mountainous Sorin area
of Marivan city. Four members of the Komala party were reportedly killed
in the confrontation, which began around 2 AM on Thursday and lasted for
several hours. Sources said that IRGC forces have been heavily shelling
the Sorin heights since the initial clashes. The strikes have reportedly
sparked widespread fires in the area, which continues to burn. The human
rights organization Hengaw has published a video purportedly showing the
armed conflict in the Marivan highlands. Marivan is located in Iran's
Kurdistan province near the border with Iraq. The region has seen
periodic clashes between Iranian government forces and Kurdish
opposition groups over the years. The Komala Party of Iranian Kurdistan
is a leftist Kurdish opposition group that advocates for Kurdish
autonomy and democratic socialism in Iran.>>

Children also Face Shortage Crisis for Hemophilia Drugs
Iranwire - September 20, 2024
<<Iranian authorities have reported a severe shortage of
essential medications for hemophilia patients, resulting in six deaths
over the past six months. According to Amin Afshar, head of the board of
directors at Iran Hemophilia Center, the center has been grappling with
a lack of factor 9 for haemophilia patients for the past three months.
The shortage extends to other crucial medications, including factor 8,
humite, and fibrinogen. The crisis is particularly acute in cities and
provinces outside Tehran. Afshar explained that some regions have been
struggling to procure medications due to financial constraints and
outstanding debts to pharmaceutical distribution companies. Even in
Tehran, where medication access is generally better than in other parts
of the country, patients face significant challenges. Afshar described a
dire situation where emergency cases receive limited supplies.
"Patients, whose monthly quota was 30 units, received only 5 units this
month," he said, warning that this reduction could lead to disability
among hemophilia patients. The shortage is so severe that when
medications do become available, they are first distributed in central
locations, leaving little to no supply for outlying areas. Afshar
emphasized, "If a drug arrives, it will be distributed in the center
first, and if there is anything left, it will reach the cities. But at
the moment, there is no medicine in the center." >>

No to excecutions Tuesdays
Hengaw Organisation for Human Right - 17 Sept 2024
<<The 34th week of the "No to Executions on Tuesdays" campaign in
21 prisons across the country, honoring the memory of those executed
during the 2022 protests
The "No to Executions on Tuesdays" campaign in its 34th week
coincides with the second anniversary of the nationwide protests in Iran
following the tragic killing of Jina Amini on September 16, 2022, by the
oppressive forces of the religious dictatorship ruling Iran. Political
prisoners in 21 prisons across the country, on Tuesday, September 17,
honored the memory of all those who lost their lives during the 2022
protests. In memory of the dozens of protestors who were executed during
and after the protests by the repressive apparatus of the government,
with the aim of intimidating a frustrated population, political
prisoners initiated a hunger strike today. They remembered individuals
such as Mohsen Shekari, Mohammad Mehdi Karami, Mohammad Hosseini,
Majidreza Rahnavard, and many others, including Reza Rasai, who was
recently hanged, deprived of all fundamental rights and without a fair
trial. The "No to Executions on Tuesdays" campaign, aimed at the
abolition of executions and repression, and seeking justice by holding
accountable those responsible for all executions in recent years, was
launched by political and general prisoners in February 2024. It has
since expanded to 21 prisons across the country. On this 34th
consecutive Tuesday, the activists not only went on a hunger strike
against the inhumane punishment of execution but also commemorated all
those who lost their lives in the nationwide protests of 2022,
especially the "martyrs" of the uprising. They expressed their
solidarity and sympathy with all the families seeking justice. The
activists of this campaign highlighted that the number of executions
since the current President of the Islamic Republic took office has
exceeded 170. They issued a serious warning about the situation of those
arrested during the 2022 protests, many of whom now face the death
penalty. They called for more attention from political and human rights
activists, the media, and the general public in Iran to the situation of
these political prisoners from the "Jina" uprising and urged efforts to
stop the execution machine of the ruling religious dictatorship.
Political prisoners participating in the "No to Executions on Tuesdays"
campaign in 21 different prisons, on Tuesday, September 17, went on a
hunger strike for the 34th consecutive week. The participating prisons
include Evin (women's ward, Ward 4, and Ward 8), Ghezel Hesar (Units 3
and 4), Tehran Bozorg , Karaj Central Prison, Khorramabad Prison, Shiraz
Military , Asadabad in Isfahan, Bam in Kerman, Mashhad , Lakan in Rasht,
Qaemshahr , Ardabil , Tabriz , Urmia , Salmas , Khoy , Naqadeh , Saqqez
, Baneh , Marivan , and Kamyaran Prison. Once again, the activists of
this campaign call on all prisoners in prisons across the country to
join the "No to Executions on Tuesdays" campaign, in the fight for the
abolition of executions and to spread this demand throughout society.
They also pointed out the support of 100 former political prisoners and
150 civil and political activists for the campaign. They repeatedly and
humbly ask all human rights organizations, political groups, unions,
civil and political activists, and free media to place the issue of "No
to Executions" at the forefront of their activities. By supporting this
campaign and defending the "right to life" of individuals, they can help
bring about a brighter future for this land-a future that is free,
prosperous, and without oppression or executions. Such a future can only
be achieved through unity and collective action.

Iranwire - September 17, 2024
<<After Bread, Iran's Milk Prices Soar Amid Economic Struggle
Iranian authorities have approved a 20 percent increase in the
price of raw milk following a significant rise in bread prices. The
price hike is particularly notable given that livestock prices have
decreased by 10-20 percent since the beginning of the year, compared to
the same period last year. The contradiction between falling livestock
prices and rising milk costs has left many puzzled and concerned about
the broader implications for dairy consumption in Iran. Saeed Dehghan,
vice president of the Dairy Sellers Union, expressed worry about the
potential consequences, stating that the government should consider
implementing subsidies or other measures to ensure continued access to
dairy products. Dehghan said that dairy consumption in Iran has already
decreased by 30 percent over the past two years compared to the previous
five-year average. While the global average per capita consumption of
dairy products stands at 180 kilograms per year, Iran's figures have
plummeted to between 40 and 50 kilograms per person. This latest price
increase comes at a challenging time for many Iranian families already
grappling with economic hardships. The effect of rising costs for
essential items like bread and dairy products is expected to place
additional strain on household. Experts fear that these price hikes
could lead to a further reduction in dairy consumption, potentially
impacting public health, particularly among vulnerable populations.>>
