'The Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA) has released a report including statistical information on the situation of women in Iran from March 2022 to March 2023. According to the report, at least 3,953 women were arrested in Iran during the protests from September 2022 to March 2023. Hrana identified 1,019 arrested women, 160 of them were female university students. <It is estimated that at least 66 women were killed in Iran during the protests. These numbers show that women are not only being targeted for their activism, but also for their participation in peaceful protests. The arbitrary arrests and detentions of women demonstrate that the government is willing to use excessive force to silence dissent,> the report said.'

<<International Women's Day event celebrates the courage of Iranian women in the fight for democracy
Highlights from the NCRI Women's Committee IWD2023 Conference - Part 1
The NCRI Women's Committee sponsored a magnificent conference in Brussels on Saturday, March 4, 2023, to honor International Women's Day. The conference entitled, <Onward to a Democratic Republic, Iranian Women Leading the Way,> featured dozens of prominent female policymakers, former ministers, experts, and rights activists. PMOI women at Ashraf-3, Albania, joined the conference online, and two addressed it. The conference's keynote speaker was the NCRI President-elect Maryam Rajavi, whose speech has been published separately. This is part 1 of our report on this women's conference and its inspiring speakers. Excerpts of their remarks follow:Azadeh Zabeti and Mitra Bighan were masters of ceremony. Ms. Zabeti, a lawyer, opened the event. In part of her remarks, she said, <The women of Iran have paid an exceptionally high price for this resistance. These years of resistance have resulted in thousands of political prisoners being tortured and executed. During this current uprising that was triggered by the horrific murder in custody of Mahsa Amini, the world was amazed by the courage and bravery of Iranian women and youth as they stood in front of brutal and repressive state forces. The world was stunned, and the mullahs were certainly caught off guard. But as Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran, said many years ago, the mullahs will be swept away by women, a force that they have never taken into account.> >>

NCRI - in Maryam Rajavi Speeches
4 March 2023
<<Maryam Rajavi: Women's Leadership Guarantees Democracy and Equality
On the eve of International Women's Day (IWD2023), the NCRI President-elect Maryam Rajavi addressed a women's conference in Brussels, Belgium, titled <Women's Leadership Guarantees Democracy and Equality,> on March 4, 2023.
The text of her remarks follows:
As we celebrate International Women's Day, we send our warmest greetings to the pioneering women commanding the uprising in Iran and to the brave women of the Resistance Units. We pay tribute to the 83 women who became martyrs during the uprising, from Mahsa Amini to Zarbibi Ismail Zehi in Zahedan. We extend our infinite greetings to all the courageous women who have sacrificed and con-tinue to sacrifice for Iran's democratic revolution, enduring immense suffering and torture. These are the women who have been arrested, tortured, and brutally attacked, some losing their sight and even their lives under torture. We also pay tribute to the women leaders who have carried the torch of struggle and resistance against the religious dictatorship for more than four decades, generation after generation. They have been executed or killed under torture in the thousands, yet they are the standard-bearers of Iran's democratic revolution. They represent the true spirit of Iranian women, who have risen up as warriors and sacrificed their lives to liberate a nation held captive.
First and foremost, we express our sympathies to the parents of the students affected by the chain poisoning of schoolgirls in various cities and regions of Iran, and we salute their resistance and protest against this criminal regime. The poisoning of these students has been ongoing for three months, and there is no doubt that it is organized and ordered by the regime. Khamenei's office is seeking revenge on the girls who played a decisive role in the recent uprising in Iran and is attempting to terrorize them. Once again, we urge the United Nations, particularly relevant agencies such as UNICEF and the Special Rapporteur on Violence Against Women, to investigate and respond firmly. Iranian women, Khamenei's endless nightmare
This year's International Women's Day has gained a unique radiance and unparalleled credibility, all thanks to the remarkable bravery of Iranian women who have risen up against the oppressive mullahs' regime. This is what makes this year different from all the past years because it has revealed a great truth: women play a unique role in shaping society's destiny. A century ago, women fought for the right to vote, and today, they are fighting to change the world, from one of barbarism into a world of freedom, justice, and equality. A revo-lution of unprecedented magnitude is underway in Iran, setting a united front of people against the oppressive and misogynistic regime of the mullahs. It is a nationwide uprising that rejects the present and past regimes and is poised to establish a democratic republic, pursuing the same path that the Iranian Resistance and its vanguard women have been paving for over four decades. Iran's brave and resilient women, with their unwavering bravery and tireless activism, have become Khamenei's perpetual nightmare. >>

<<Second high school girl falls victim to biological terror attacks
Sister of slain protester receives a 25-year sentence, four relatives of slain protester detained, poet arrested. A second life has been claimed by the recent series of biological terror attacks on high school girls, according to social media reports released on Friday, March 3, 2023. The victim has been identified as Sanaz Jamshidi, although no further details on her age or school are available.
This follows the death of Fatemeh Rezaei, an 11-year-old student in Qom, who was the first to fall victim to these tragic attacks. Reports suggest that the clerical regime has organized these biological terror attacks to avenge the high school girls' active participation in the Iran uprising. Shockingly, nearly 500 students have been treated for gas poisoning over the past three months.>>

<<Women of Iran's Evin prison, locked up amid protests, remain defiant
<Listen to this! One. Two. Three!> Down the crackling phone line from the women's wing of Tehran's Evin prison, a chorus of prisoners then launch into raucous song. It's a Persian rendition of the Italian protest song <Bella Ciao>. <All for one and one for all!> they sing, laughing in shared defiance in support of the <Woman, life, free-dom> protests that have shaken Iran's clerical authorities for five months. The audio clip of the January telephone call, released on social media by a daughter of one of those held, has become a sym-bol of the courage of the women held in Evin prison and their refusal to stop campaigning even behind bars. Many such as environmental activist Niloufar Bayani, arrested in 2018, have been held for several years. Others including the activist Narges Mohammadi, tipped by supporters as a Nobel Peace Prize contender, have spent much of the past decade in and out of jail. Some were arrested well before the women-led protests sparked by the September 16 death in custody of Mahsa Amini, a young Iranian Kurd who had been detained for allegedly violating the strict dress code for women. But their num-bers swelled in the ensuing crackdown. Several women have been released in recent weeks, including Alieh Motalebzadeh, a journalist and women's rights campaigner whose daughter posted the viral clip of the <Bella Ciao> protest song, and French-Iranian academic Fariba Adelkhah.
'Basic rights and freedoms'
But campaigners have rejected the amnesty as a PR stunt and key figures remain detained. They include Bayani and Mohammadi and also environmental campaigner Sepideh Kashani, arrested in the same case as Bayani, the labour activist Sepideh Gholian, journalist Golrokh Iraee, arrested in the protest crackdown, and German-Iranian Nahid Taghavi. Also held in Evin are Fariba Kamalabadi and Mahvash Sabet, two members of the Bahai faith not recognised by the Islamic republic who were detained in July and are now serving a 10-year prison sentence apiece for the second time in their lives. These women remain deprived of their freedom because Iran's clerical authorities under supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei <tremble at their words>, said Jasmin Ramsey, deputy director of the New York-based Center for Human Rights in Iran (CHRI). <The hijab headscarf is a pillar of the Islamic revolution and so is the subjugation of women. They hate it when women speak out and say 'I can do anything!> she told AFP. Ramsey dismissed the recent amnesty, saying: <The doors of Iranian prisons are revolving when it comes to political prisoners.... The prisons will swell when there are more protests.>
....
The ambassadors should be told to <stop detaining and committing violence against women who are calling for basic rights and freedoms in Iran> and to <end the physical and sexual violence against women detainees and protesters>, it said. >>

<<Alarm Raised Over <Chilling Execution Spree> In Iran
Iranian authorities have escalated the use of the death penalty as a tool of repression against ethnic minorities, executing at least one ethnic Arab, 14 Kurds and 13 Baluchis and sentencing at least a dozen others to death since the start of the year, two human rights groups say. Amnesty International and Abdorrahman Boroumand Center said in a statement on March 2 that at least 94 people were executed in January and February amid <horrific sexual violence and other torture allegations,> in what they called a <chilling execution spree.> <The Iranian authorities are carrying out executions on a frightening scale. Their actions amount to an assault on the right to life and a shameless attempt not only to further oppress ethnic minorities but to spread fear that dissent will be met with brute force, either in the streets or in the gallows,> said Roya Boroumand, Executive Director of Abdorrahman Boroumand Center, an Iranian human rights organization. The Islamic Republic executed an Arab man, Hassan Abyat, in Sepidar prison in Khuzestan province on February 20 and a Kurdish man, Arash (Sarkawt) Ahmadi, in Dizel Abad prison in Kermanshah province on February 22, following <grossly unfair> trials, the statement said. It quoted informed sources as saying that interrogators subjected both men to torture and other ill-treatment. Their forced <confessions> were broadcast on state media in an attempt by the authorities to <vilify them and justify their executions.> Abyat was sentenced to death twice in relation to the death of an agent from the paramilitary Basij force in 2011 and alleged membership of an <opposition group,> Amnesty International and Abdorrahman Boroumand Center said. He had denied any involvement in the death. After subjecting him to enforced disappearance, interrogators beat him with cables and administered electric shocks to his testicles, according to a witness.
Ahmadi was sentenced to death in connection with his previous membership in a banned Iranian-Kurdish opposition group and the death of a member of the security forces.>>

Opinion by Gino d'Artali: Whether one is a Zan. Zendagi. Azadi. related protester or not when one belongs to the opposition of the regime one is in life-threatening danger. The above is clear enough.
And let me quote Iran's most prominent Sunni leader Mowlana Abdolhamid who said <There is no death sentence in the reading of Islam. Forced confession is rejected and has no place. In this view, people can easily criticize their ruler and government. There is freedom. Women should enjoy equal rights as men, so do all ethnic groups, religions, and all human beings,>.

<<Jailed Iranian Activist Rejects FM's <Reckless Lies> About Protest Crackdown
Prominent Iranian activist Narges Mohammadi, who is serving a long-term sentence in Tehran's Evin Prison, says the inmates there are being subjected to <sexual assaults and physical torture.>
Mohammadi published a letter on her Instagram page on March 2 to reject claims made by Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian minimizing the extend of the Islamic Republic's brutal crackdown on mainly peaceful protests that have swept Iran for more than five months. In an interview with CNN, Amir-Abdollahian rejected wide-spread evidence that security forces had used rape to quell the anti-government protests as <unfounded.> He also claimed that no one has been arrested during peaceful rallies and that all those detained, except murderers, were later released. <I can tell you this in full confidence that our police and the security forces in Iran have not killed anyone with bullets or any other means in these riots,> the minister also said. Contrary to his claims, the authorities have cracked down hard on the demonstrations triggered by the September death of a 22-year-old woman, Mahsa Amini, in the custody of morality police. Human rights activists say security forces have killed more than 520 people and illegally detained over 19,000 in connection with the protests. Following biased trials, the judiciary has handed down stiff sentences to protesters, including capital punishment, mostly on non-murder charges. At least four young men have been executed so far amid international outrage. <It happened in front of the eyes of the world, but the government recklessly lies even at the headquarters of the United Nations to deceive the public opinion of the world,> Mohammadi said in her letter, adding that the Islamic Republic is based on <repression, lies and deception.> <During the past few months, the detainees have been brought to the women's ward of Evin Prison and have been subjected to physical, sexual assault and physical torture, and we have witnessed the physical effects left on them,> she added. The activist cited the case of poet and writer Mahvash Shahriari, a member of the country's persecuted Baha'i religious minority who has been rearrested without any reason after spending 10 years in prison.>>

<<'Students in Iran are poisoned by the government'
News Center- In Iran, hundreds of female students have been hospitalized for suspected poisoning since November. According to some reports, about 900 students have been hospitalized for suspec-ted poisoning. But activists say the number is more than reported.
In an interview with NuJINHA, child rights activist Parvin Azad said, <Fatemeh Rezaei, an eleven-year-old girl, has died in Qom because of the poisonings. However, her family said that she died due to her illness after being threatened.> Parvin Azad also said that the people do not trust in the government anymore, adding, <The government claimed that Jina Mahsa Amini died after falling ill. The government does the same in poisoning cases at schools. The people do not trust in the government anymore. According to the official reports, 900 students have been hospitalized for poisoning. However, we think the number of students is more than reported.>
'Students are poisoned by the government'
'The government is responsible for the poisoning of students,' Parvin Azad said, <The government poisons the female students to instill fear in students and their families with the aim of keeping them at home. Because, female students are on the frontline of the <Jin, Jiyan, Azadi> protests. They remove their hijabs to protest the regime. The regime is afraid of the protests to be held by female students. For this reason, the government poisons the female students to prevent them from holding protests.>
'Young people are the future'
<The regime targets young people because young people are the future. Despite everything, young people are determined to change the regime. Not only students but also teachers must take to the streets to protest the regime. If we do not take to the streets, the regime will commit more crimes against humanity.> >>

<<Iranian forces open fire on retirees protesting price hikes
News Center- The low-income families are the most affected by the growing economic crisis in Iran. In the country, retirees held demon-strations in many cities of Iran to price hikes, surging inflation and unemployment rate. Gathering in Kermanshah, Ilam, Sanandaj, Marivan, Shahrekord, Yazd, Arak, Hamedan, Tehran, Ardabil, Tabriz, Rasht and many other cities, the retirees chanted slogans demanding a rise in their salary to fight the inflation. In addition, many retirees held a march to the building of the Iranian Parliament in Tehran on February 28. However, the Iranian forces tried to block the retirees from marching by battering them. The Coordinating Council of Iranian Teacher Trade Associations announced that the retirees gathered in front of the parliament were beaten and detained by Iranian forces. In Sanandaj, Iranian forces reportedly opened fire on the retirees protesting the price hikes.>>

<<Iran investigates poisoning of hundreds of schoolgirls with toxic gas
Almost 700 girls have been poisoned by toxic gas in Iran since November, in what many believe is a deliberate attempt to force their schools to shut. No girls have died, but dozens have suffered respiratory problems, nausea, dizziness and fatigue. <It became evident that some people wanted all schools, especially girls' schools, to be closed down,> the deputy health minister said on Sunday.
However, he later said that his remarks had been misunderstood. The prosecutor general announced last week that he was opening a criminal investigation. However, he said that the available information only indicated <the possibility of criminal and premeditated acts>.
Meanwhile, public frustration is continuing to grow.>>

<<Over 50 Countries Slam Death Penalty In Iran
Over fifty countries from across the world have issued a joint statement addressed to the United Nations condemning the death penalty and executions in Iran. The statement was deliveredby Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of Costa Rica, Christian Guillermet at the 52nd session of the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva Tuesday.
<We are deeply concerned by the use of the death penalty in Iran. Several hundred people were reportedly executed in Iran between 2022 and 2023, including juvenile offenders,> he stated. In recent months, Iran has handed down or sought to impose death sentences against dozens of individuals arrested in connection with their participation in protests following the death in custody of Mahsa Amini. Iran has executed hundreds of prisoners since 2021 and in December hanged four protesters after sham trials. <We are con-cerned by the nature of the offences for which the death penalty was applied the speed of the trials, lack of transparency, and credible reports that defendants did not have proper access to lawyers of their choosing and were subject to torture or other inhumane treatment,> read the statement. The signatories called on Iran to respect the lives and voices of its people, to impose an immediate moratorium on the death penalty and to halt all executions, urging Iran to cooperate with all UN human rights mechanisms, including the Council's Fact-Finding Mission. Australia, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, France, Germany, Israel, Italy, Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Ukraine, the UK, and the USA are among the countries that co-sponsored the joint statement.>>

<<Exiled Prince Touring Europe To Garner Support For Iranian Protests
Exiled Prince Reza Pahlavi, who has been very active in recent days touring Europe and advocating the <revolution in Iran,> is in Belgium for a European parliament event. He arrived in the Belgian capital Brussels on Tuesday and was welcomed by the Swedish Member of the European Parliament Charlie Weimers, one of his hosts in a Wednesday event, titled <A secular, democratic Iran: implications for Europe's economy and security.>
....
According to Iran International's correspondent in Brussels, Bardia Afshin, Pahlavi was asked to talk about his cooperation with other prominent dissident figures and his negotiations with diplomats and officials of other countries meant to garner support for the current protests in Iran, which have been going on for over six months and have been described as the boldest challenge the Islamic regime has faced so far. During the event at the Belgian parliament, Pahlavi said that the global society should feel comfortable with the alternative to the Islamic Republic, noting that the sooner the transition hap-pens, the sooner the sanctions can be removed and Iran can have foreign investment. He also briefed the lawmakers of the opposi-tion's ideas for the interim government, which will have specialized committees for different tasks that should be performed during the transition period until a referendum is held in the country. Pahlavi spoke about the charter of solidarity and freedom of Iran, reiterating that it creates the basis of cooperation among opposition forces to oust the Islamic Republic. <Iran's Charter of Solidarity and Freedom>, which is being finalized, includes the minimum principles of agreement for the majority of secular democratic forces. The exiled prince also said that the content of the charter is coordinated with the activists and protesters inside the country to reflect their views and visions for the future of Iran. He said the charter is composed of voices coming from inside the country. Pahlavi also mentioned jailed lawyer and activist Nasrin Sotoudeh and civil and human rights activist Narges Mohammadi, as well as Fatemeh Sepehri, another activist opposed to the Islamic Republic, as being among the people whose ideas were considered in the charter.>>

Aditional news to previously news published:
On 28 Feb 2023 another poison attack took place in Qum where dozens of girls had to be hospitalized. A government official said that the attacks were believed to be a deliberate attempt to force the closure of girls' schools and I believe that but the question is about the Iranian government is going to do to prevent it? Also because this is not recent news: since November last year hundreds of cases of this kind of poisoning took place. No wonder the protesters do not believe any person from the government any-longer.
