<<Women doctors in Afghanistan have to pass 'religious exam' to work
News Center- The Department for the Propagation of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice in Afghanistan's Ghazni province has issued an order requiring women doctors and nurses to obtain a permission letter from the department in order to continue to work. According to the issued order, the women doctors and nurses have to pay approximately 10,000 Afghanis in cash and pass a religious exam in order to get their license. Previously, the Taliban had warned women doctors in the province that their clinics would be closed if they treated male patients.>>

<<Letter from Afghan mother to her sons
Kabul- Tehmina Mangal is an Afghan women's rights activist who always reacts to all forms of repression practiced by the Taliban against women and girls. She has three sons and a daughter. Like millions of other Afghan mothers, she is worried about the future of her children, particularly her daughter since the Taliban has banned women and girls from attending high school and university. As the new school year in Afghanistan begins, she wrote a letter to her sons. Her letter is as follows:
<I teach my sons to love themselves, their family, their nation, and their country. I teach my sons to love humanity. I tell them there is no difference between them and their sister; God created them and their sister. Girls are God's blessings; no one should take their rights away. Our daughters make our home a place of light and they are the sunshine on our lands. My sons, the future men of our society, should not succumb to patriarchal thoughts; they should build a more democratic society. Long live Afghanistan.> >>

Note from Gino d'Artali: Lately I've been talking a lot with a Muslima sister and once she asked me why I do what I do |working so hard for cryfreedom.net i.e. for the global oppressed globally and for the Afghanistan and Iran women having to fight so hard for their rights.| But I especially said to her: <I do what my mother, God has her soul, teached me: about what humanisme is.>

<<Afghan woman: We will keep struggling for our rights
Kabul- On Sunday, March 26, a group of women held a protest in Kabul against the misogynous policies of the Taliban. However, the Taliban forces attacked them, arresting four women named Fatemeh Mohammadi, Malali Hashemi, Ruqia Saei and Yaqut Mandage.
'We took to the streets to demand our rights'
Mahjoub Habibi, one of the women participated in the protest, spoke to NuJINHA about what had happened on March 26. <We flocked to the streets of Kabul around 10 am. We did not give any information to the press outlets about our march because we did not want to be blocked by the Taliban forces before the march. However, the Taliban forces attacked us and surrounded us in a few minutes. Most of us managed to escape, but they arrested four of us. I do not understand why the Taliban is afraid of women holding peaceful protests. We took to the streets to demand our right to education and work and to denounce the rights violations against us, women and girls,> Mahjoub Habibi told NuJINHA. Stressing that they would keep struggling for the rights of women and girls in Afghanistan, Mahjoub Habibi said, <No matter how much we are oppressed, arrested and tortured, we, as Afghan women, will keep struggling for our rights.> >>

<<Afghan women call on international community to take action against Taliban
News Center- The members of the Women's Political Participation Network, an Afghan women's network, have released a statement calling on the international community to take an immediate action against the Taliban, saying, <We are fed up with the oppression of the Taliban.> In the statement, the network emphasized that while the International Women's Day is celebrated all around the world, Afghan women have been deprived of all their rights under the rule of the Taliban for more than 19 months and called on the international community to impose effective sanctions on the Taliban. <The silence of the international community is an approval for the anti-women practices of the Taliban,> the statement said.
'Do not recognize the Taliban'
The statement also called on all countries that respect women's rights and have signed international conventions protecting women's rights not to recognize the Taliban. <European Union and the US should impose more sanctions against the Taliban.> >>
